Citizen investigators needed to correct media’s latest canard about Kennedy & funerals
Bookworm on Aug 27 2009 at 11:25 am | Filed under: Media matters
The latest story making the rounds of the adulatory media is that Kennedy attend every military funeral in Massachusetts. At Blackfive, we learn that this came as a big surprise to military families in Massachusetts. Matt is therefore asking if you have any information about Kennedy attending — or not attending — such funerals. It’s important to note that the issue is not that it was a Kennedy failing not to have attended the funerals; instead, Matt is taking umbrage at the media spouting impossible stories to burnish its hero.
By the way, did you know that, among his other little moral problems, Kennedy was kicked out of Harvard (twice) for cheating? No wonder Biden feels to close to him. So, let’s see if I’ve got the whole list: academic cheater, womanizer, traitor, and manslaughter (or murderer, depending on how you feel about it). What a prince of guy.

I don’t think the murder charge depends on how anybody feels about it – I think that’s what it is.
It’s manslaughter or vehicular homicide when you drive off the bridge in a drunken stupor – but then when you leave her there alive to go off and try and suborn your cousin into saying he was the driver… well, now you’ve raised the bar, baby. Now you’re a murderer, plain and simple. If you’re him and you’re any place but Massachusetts (or, I suppose, Illinois) that’s the charge you’d be facing. And should be facing.
Aha. Just read your other posts. You’re already there. Good lawyering.
I didn’t know about the second expulsion from Harvard. Haven’t seen anything about that one.
I am sorry that he was a UVA Law grad. Tarnished that good school.
Can’t help wondering how a Prosecutor and Judge felt when they look in the mirror after being so publicly in the pocket of the influential bootlegger. Probably rationalized that they were doing their patriotic duty by insuring that Teddy stayed in the Senate to continue his “service”. Huh?
Still, I wonder how a reasonably intelligent voter rationalizes going into the booth and voting for an obvious sleaze balls to represent them. Of course the people of Massacheusettes aren’t alone in that regard..

Some citizen research into Ram’s corruption circle.

I believe he failed his law exam. Not sure what he graduated with that wasn’t bought with money and threats.

Dictators love democracy. In no other system can you so finely and easily control people.
If you can break your neck by tripping over superlatives – the media should be wearing a Thomas Collar by the weekend.
Hot Air and Ace are linking to a 1990 piece in GQ that has some truly squalid details about the womanizing. The idea that it was written 20 years ago and Kennedy (and Dodd, who features prominently as well) have been so reliably re-elected is disheartening, to say the very least.
How can you be too tainted by an event to be president, but not to be senator?
For 25 years?
Illinois has another spelling – M A S S A C H U E S E T T S.
Lulu, the Presidency is still strictly regimented by Constitutional balances and checks. A single Senate seat, however, is much easier to buy for a Lord Ruler, aka aristocrat.
Senator for Life is the reality. The Constitution was much against a President for Life, however.
