“It ain’t [America] no more” *UPDATED with video*

This is an interesting video, in which a police officer tells a protester to remove his anti-ObamaCare sign from public school property.  A “helpful” bystander explains that the Supreme Court has barred this type of speech.  Frankly, without doing even minimal research, I do not know what the rules are for protest when you’re on public school property.  I understand that public schools cannot be used for prayer and that principals can control student clothes, lockers and publications, but it’s a new one to me that, during non-school hours, all political protest is barred on public property, especially protest with pictures.

Regardless of what the specific laws are, what is unpleasant about this video is the cop’s closing line:  “It ain’t [America] no more.”

It’s entirely possible that the officer’s final statement was just a harassed, non-obscene version of a “f*** you” to an irritating member of the public, but it still sounds appalling to hear him say it.

UPDATE:  Here’s the video:

Neo has up a visceral story, something I actually saw when I was younger (the Steven movie in question I believe).

It was scary and troubling. But at least now, I don’t have to worry about situations like that.

And, of course, if there had been a real Death Penalty, he would have been eliminated. By me, by the state, by neighbors, by whomever. Because that’s how I like it. Quick and efficient. But that’s the America we have, although it may have been so in the past.

Luxury breeds defenseless wretches who are then preyed upon by more vital and ruthless invaders. If, however, you turn to war and ruthlessness yourself, you may over-correct and condemn, needlessly, the innocent or the weak to death or torment. Either way, you cannot avoid human nature.

    I can’t, you can’t, they can’t, we can’t.

To live your life without fear of sexual predators and serial killers… is not a joyous vacation from history and reality. To do what you need to do for that, you must also summon the animal instinct within, the tiger, the demon, and the slayer.

So, there won’t be any need to fear other people, well those people at least. But now you fear yourself. Life is not a purity of existence without consequence.

But that’s the America we have, although it may have been so in the past.

Correction: Not the America we have.

NOTE: As for the Garridos and their punishment, as a previous sex offender Garrido ought to get the maximum in California, whatever that is (I couldn’t find the information).

Y…there is no justice in this story. It is beyond sad and horrific from beginning to end. What began as one stolen life, became three stolen lives (the two plus that were brought into life by rape).

The Garridos should be placed in the center of any prison yard facility and judged by jury of their peers – torn to shreds and fed to vultures. Even then, justice is denied because it’s simply impossible to return to the victims what was stolen from them.

    “It ain’t no more, OK?”

I know it is wrong – but I had to laugh at that line (and really the whole video), it is funny because in so many ways to seems true. That’s the scary part.

It would be interesting to know what the supreme court makes of constitional freedoms on school property when it is NOT a school function. There are so many small towns in the U.S. where the local school building functions as the “town hall” for meetings, etc.

The cop may or may not be acting on his Commanding Officer’s instructions; Or he could just be upset that someone is “attacking” the President because he is black like the cop. Who knows?

But, that “helpful” bystander – what a freaking idiot! And the grin he displayed when he finished “showing off his superior knowledge” – If I were the one being denied the right to hold up my sign (and no I would not have had THAT sign – the use of the phrase “Final Solution” is stomach-turning) I would have struggled so hard to keep from turning around and just slapping him along side the head. What a freaking idiot!
