The Safety Center published a truly great Aviation Safety magazine, entitled “Approach”. Naval Aviators always looked forward to its issuance. There was another fine magazine entitled “Naval Aviation News”. I don’t know if the Safety Center published it, but it contained a cartoon character who commented on Safety, by the name of “Grand-paw Pettibone”. If he saw those photos you posted, he would exclaim in trademark fashion: “Jumping Jehosophats”. Memories.
