It’s not just aphids — the whole ACORN plant (nut? fruit?) is poisonous

I’m a migraine sufferer, but otherwise a very healthy person.  I’ve always likened my migraines to aphids on an otherwise healthy plant — they’re external to the real me, although they can cause plenty of damage.

This LA Times editorial, which has the decency to recognize just how appalling the ACORN exposes are, nevertheless advances the argument that ACORN is a great organization with a few external bad actors — aphids, if you will — causing damage.  I believe that the LAT is wrong:  ACORN isn’t a laudable organization with a few wild cards at its front desks.  Instead, the basic premise of the organization, which is to suck the government dry, is corrupt.  Fundamentally speaking, ACORN is poisonous.  The organizers we see aren’t foreign to its nature — they represent its core being.

Gotta run, so I can’t develop this further, but I think you get my point.
