Yes! It’s on, with Whitman officially in California’s governor race

Really, for California, this is bizarre:  a competent, personable Republican running for the governorship.  Be still my beating heart.   I’ve already got my feelers out for any behind the scenes work I can do.

    She sounds very normal and competent. Will this make her too bizarre for California to elect?

    But she doesn’t have any experience, nor from her history, any real interest in politics. It doesn’t matter what you promise if you don’t have the skill to put it through.

    No, I’m not pulling an anti-Palin, *she* was experienced, and had obvious enjoyment of and skill in politics that went back decades.

    I’m not sure it matters. Jesus Christ could be the governor – if he was working with that legislature it’d still be a mess.

    In order for Republicans to do any good in California, they must purge the upper echelons of the legislative power brokers. There’s no other way.
