Fact is, though, I agree: some of the opposition to Obama has been petty or off-the-wall. Will I speak up against this? Maybe and it depends. Here is what I will do: I will speak up when members of the loyal opposition to the administration:

1) Trash the President on the basis of forged documents.
2) Falsely accuse the President, intelligence agencies, and soldiers who protect us of torture and murder of people who would destroy us.
3) Actively side with our enemies as morally superior to us.
4) Openly build up enemy morale (e.g., by proclaiming our enemies the victors) while our sons and daughters in the military struggle in the heat of battle.
5) Leak confidential intelligence that protects us against our enemies to the press.
6) Openly and collectively “boo” the President during state addresses and censor or misrepresent his speeches in the national media.
7) Make and market movies and speeches that bad mouth and undermine our country abroad.
8 ) Savage the President’s children, attack their intelligence, their sexuality or even normal adolescent behavior.
9) File reams of frivolous lawsuits to tie down our President’s ability to function (the way they did with Gov. Sarah Palin).
10) Arson the President’s church while children are present and willingly impose a media curtain on the event.
11) Loot the national treasury through acts of Congress designed to featherbed their own nests and those of their favorite constituents.
12) Seek-out and hide campaign donations from foreign interests, some of which are inimical to my country.
13) Corrupt democracy by by-passing citizenship requirements for immigrants to get them on the voter rolls, registering illegal aliens and denying the vote to serving military personnel.
14) Make vile, racist, sexist or homophobic comments about members of the administration.
15) Bear false witness to purported sexual, criminal or other immoral activities alleged of the President’s Supreme Court and other appointees.
16) Make movies and stage plays celebrating and advocating the assassination of the President
17) Pen news articles that pray for the President and his circle of advisers and appointees to die untimely deaths.
18) Close ranks to protect the criminal behavior of members of my own party in Congress and state governments.
19) Undermine the Justice department by granting pardons of and blocking investigations and prosecutions of people that support my politics.

When the opposition that purports to speak in my name engages in these activities, I shall stand up and speak out in protest. Until then, I shall keep my peace and let the braying self-righteousness of those of those that kept their own silence in years past be lost in the winds of their own making.
