Quite possibly the worst production values ever in a music video

Don’t ask how I stumbled across this video of a song from Tom Jones’ 1969 BBC TV show. Just enjoy the pudgy male dancers in the white jumpsuits. I am still wiping tears of helpless laughter from my eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so horribly staged, yet done with such self-assured panache.
The next thing, of course, is to find someone who is clever with computers to put Obama’s head in place of Tom Jones’, especially for those screen shots of a giant head in the background.

My Design professor stressed to us that “Good enough is best.” When I see this video, I think, “Bad enough is worst.”
Bookie, this video could serve as the framework for a Barack Obama re-election campaign theme in 2012.
You watch. We’re not far away, today. Sadly.
We used to laugh at Tom Jones’ songs because of the boundless egomania contained therein: She’s a Lady; What’s New, Pussycat; Daughter of Darkness; and best of all, Delilah, featuring stalking and premeditated murder.
Of course now that Boundless Egomania is in the White House, it’s not so funny any more.
Yes, but Tom Jones can sing. At least he, unlike the O, has a talent that enhances the lives of others. Obama? What has he really done and what can he really do?
