What happens when cougars get out of control

Cougar (slang):  An older woman who dates younger men.

I don’t know if Meredith Vieira is getting any action, but she’s hoping — and, really, can you blame her?

    Um, yuck!

But he truly is beautiful. Restraint is sexier.

Not nearly as funny, though. I can’t calculate Meredith’s age.

The Navy LT looks to be in his 20s, perhaps early or latter.

The byplay between the two was interesting. Especially that one question.

She is 55 and married to a man with MS. Very tough situation and if she is a cougar I wish she wouldn’t be so open about it. Perhaps she was doing this to punish her husband for something he did or said.

Blast it, I always miss the new sexual trends. I missed out on the first sexual revolution because I was a prude, and I’ll miss out on this one because I’m too tired.

And yes, because openly lusting after infants is yucky.

I put this right up there with the people who air their dirty laundry on shows such as the ol’ Jerry Springer extravaganza. I wonder if she can watch that recording and not feel even slightly embarrassed?

Can you imagine Regis Philbin or some other somewhat older man going on like that with some pretty young blonde thing in her 20s? What would people say?

Maybe it’s just all in fun. But such a lack of grace and poise…
Banal, in the end. Like so much of our culture.

Same thing they’ve been saying for centuries….”No fool like an old fool”.

Women used to be immune to such a thing. We got relieved of the “foolish” urge in our 40s and early 50s, whereas a man is driven as long as he’s alive. Remember the Anna Nicole Smith thing? the man she married was _91_! Guess we women can take our medications these days and we too can be fools into an age past when we should have just fond memories.

    Well…isn’t that just fine!!

Reminds me…there was once an American community that *institutionalized* Cougar-ism:

The Oneida Community (1848-1871) was a group of religious communists. They had their own unique approach to many things…for one, older women were expected to initiate young boys into sex. It was viewed as a learning experience with an experienced instructor, without much danger of pregnancy. Cougars everywhere!

The Community disbanded in 1871 and turned into a silverware company.

(I know about this because I wrote a paper on the subject in college)

Oneida??? Unbelievable! (Not that I don’t believe it…but…you know!)

I think I read that same thing attributed to some south Pacific tribe as well – I’d put it as a Margaret Sanger report sort of thing – but what you’re relating would have been well before MS…

I didn’t mean I didn’t believe you…but it’s just bizarre what people will find perfectly reasonable.

This page adds more to the story, by the way.
