Just Because — John Denver

Some songs operate like time machines so that, when I hear them, I’m instantly plummeted back into my own past.  This John Denver song whipped me back to being 11 years old so quickly that I’m still having a hard time coping with the gray streaks in my hair:

    Music is like that…it somehow sort of exists outside of time.

    I never found the right music to let me ‘cope’ with the gray.

    So, it’s $80 every couple of months and I get sing my version of ….OH Happy Day, when my colorist washed my gray away.

    I’ve never been to Colorado or the Rockies, but Denver makes it part of my home.

    His “Aspenglow” is a personal favorite of mine. It’s not really a Christmas song… but for me, it is.
