One superficial analysis of their childish whining and childishly intentional ignoring of recent history is that they are just projecting their own belief system on us. They were and are the ones who crave to be in control, be the Great Leader, be the dictator. They called Bush that as a curse. They cringe when they think we have identified their secret desire. They'll stare right at those pictures of Hitler, and then say yes, but "Imagine just a few years ago had somebody walked around with images of Hitler." They operate in a different logical universe.
