The news has a surreal quality

One of the things I like about the Drudge Report is the way that Matt Drudge, almost as if he’s writing free form poetry, assembles little essays by aggregating headlines.  He’s a master at this.  Despite the fact that the headlines are out there for anyone else to assemble, no one has the artistry to create a page that is a snapshot of the world as it is at a precise moment in time.  Drudge’s headlines today, however, have a surreal quality.  It’s not Drudge’s fault.  It’s the news he has to deal with.

In addition to the staggering news that Dems are raising our debt ceiling by $1.8 trillion dollars (something that should scare the bejeezus out of every American), Drudge assembled three other fascinating little essays.  The first is about the way in which Leftists want to destroy people’s ability to reproduce:

CHINA: Population control called key to Global Warming deal…

Canada’s National Newspaper calls for Worldwide One Child Policy..

The second little essay is a short rumination about politics at home, national security abroad and Climategate:

Five Americans were in Pakistan for jihad…

Reid Asks Republicans for Weekend Off, Has Fundraiser to Get To…

GOOD MORNING, STEPHANOPOULOS!

Greece May Be First EU Default…

Climategate: Gore falsifies the record…

SHOCK POLL: 44% want Bush back over Obama…

And the third little essay is about l’affair de Tiger, a scandal that should cause us all to ruminate about celebrity, race and the media:

AS THE GOLF BALL TURNS:

Another porn star becomes TENTH woman to be linked…

Lawmaker drops Congressional Gold Medal push…

Texts to alleged mistress reveal tortured affair…

Events without Tiger see TV ratings slump 50%…

If you’re like me, you have an almost surreal sense of a world spin insanely off its axis.  These are not normal headlines.  These are the headlines of a hysterical planet.

Sometimes I miss the days of the old dinosaur media.  Even as they told us life was awful, they comforted us by telling us that, if we’d just vote Left, everything would be good again.  We’re now denied that consolation.  The internet shows that these assurances were lies.  Knowing that, we can no longer lapse into soporific apathy, but must, instead, act, swiftly and assuredly, to get the world spinning normally again.

Brings to mind Alvin Toffler’s “Future Shock”, doesn’t it?

Alan Jackson, the country song writer and singer, was in an affair and it almost wrecked his marriage, including his 3 children.

I read the story of why his wife didn’t permanently break up with him from her book. It was an interesting story of how faith, redemption, and such work, when Hollywood and the public (including shark lawyers) don’t get into things.

Did Tiger pick up this behavior from his celebrity days or did he have previous influences like Obama’s pastor for example?

    Heh…wry laugh for the day…

Y…I suspect it’s more a function of “unsupervised” time away from home.  When you place yourself in the pathway of temptation, you’re likely to slip and fall.  I suspect he’s a social creature and doesn’t like to drink alone.  His occupation requires travel and time spent in hotels away from home…hence the opportunity to philander.  It’s actually pretty understandable under the conditions.  Not any more excusable, but understandable.

You know – there wouldn’t be a commandment if there wasn’t a reason for it!

Yeah right.  Who’s going to tell the muslims that they’re going to have to limit reproduction…I’d sure like to know!

Saw the lawn signs today. The last one was my favorite. Requested a dozen as magnetic bumper stickers  (wonderful little holiday gift).

suek, those yard signs are GREAT!
For my average day, I’ll put out “Rookie of the Year”.  Awesome!
When I’m in a bad mood, I’ll put out the Fisting sign.  That one positively snarls.

I too noticed the Drudge headline story he assembled with the “Population Control” headlines.
The global warming crowd suddenly morphs *publicly* into the “We must reduce the population of the Earth” crowd.  But, you see, that really was their identity all along.

China has the linkage between Global Warming and the forced decline of the world’s population:
Population Control Called The Key To Global Warming Deal

Control what you eat: People must be forced to stop eating meat and milk and other dairy products.

Control the population, and reduce it: Canadian bureaucrats recommend one-child policy.

Every single person advocating for the reduction of the Earth’s population is also a member of the global warming crowd.  Remember the dear old bureaucratic lady in England – I forget her name – who wanted to forcibly cut England’s population in HALF?  How would she do that… pray tell?  Would she volunteer to go first?  I shouldn’t mention it, she’s crazy enough to possibly do so.

But Al Gore won’t put himself first on the list, nor would most of them!  They want to force YOU to disappear; all they want is to choose who disappears, and it won’t be them.

You’re right, Mike.  And the funny thing is that if we just don’t do _anything_ and nature has it’s way, the problem will also be solved.  The difference is that if _we_ do something about it, _we_ get to say who survives and reproduces.  If Nature does the job, then those who survive will be those who are somehow most successful in the environment that exists.  That’s nature’s way.  Very cruel, but very effective.  So why do all these people want to make the decisions?  Probably because they want to ensure that _they_ (and theirs)are among those who survive.  Pretty human.

And if they succeed, I guess they will have demonstrated their superiority of survival in our particular politically controlled environment!

But I still want to know who’s going to insist that the muslims limit their reproduction!

Can’t remember the name of the firm/friends of Obama/Clinton that received almost $6 million as part of the job stimulus scam that produced THREE jobs. Anyway, the point is that they were suppose to get the  ‘word’ out advertising the Analog to Digital Cable change.
I am nominating them to get out a mass mailing to the muslim world.

    Hey Sadie…
    I didn’t say “suggest”…I said “insist”!!

And yeah…when you look at the dispersal of the stimulus funds, it looks like a big payout scam to reward various Obama supporters.  Talk about a rip-off!

    I stand corrected.
The site attached details the ‘rip-off’ and then some. I saw several unemployed Detroit citizens being interviewed the other night about the $6 million scam package – suffice it to say, they were not happy about it either.
