Speaking or writing, I think he is great. I'll be happy to join the fan club if you will be president.

Joe was off by a few months and 6,000 miles and the president, well...he's always off. "Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking." That 3 a.m. call came. Since no one was home the answering machine picked it up. Meanwhile back when they both were vying for the job.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZZUXPZPkao Oddly enough, neither of them can be reached post election.

The Obama crowd is trying to say - after that initial three days of silence - that his low-key approach to this jihadist attack was deliberate, and designed to deny Al Qaeda a propaganda victory.

Nonsense. Bulls&!t.

Not when his, and his Administration's, statements include words like "alleged suspect". Not when they call him a lone nut case. What - he went off his meds, walked into a corner store in Yemen, purchased some household cleaners, mixed it at his dining room table, bought a syringe for the other half, and flew off, all by himself, to Amsterdam, to board a flight to Detroit, Michigan. A lone wolf nut-case. Sure. Yeah, right. If you're saying that - if you're denying Al Qaeda involvement COMPLETELY - how are you denying Al Qaeda a propaganda victory by remaining low-key?

They even referred to this jihadist as an "assailant".

In the campaign, Obama famously uttered "Words? Just Words? Words matter!" But apparently, these days, words don't matter. They intended to treat this as just a criminal matter, as when some twenty-year old gets caught shoplifting a case of Coors Light from the back of a beer distributor truck.

What a bunch of liars. Never mind the initial insistence that "the system worked", only to be met with howls of derision from all of those among our 300 million Americans who were actually paying attention. Left, Right, Center, it didn't matter: howls of derision.

In the words of the insurance commercial: "Are you in good hands?" Absolutely not.

Mark Steyn is to the language what a Steinway is to pianos - I crown him the Steynway of English.
A quick rewrite to his last sentence -
From:
Yet President Obama tried to pass him off as some sort of lone misfit who wakes up one morning and goes bananas. Could happen to anyone.
To:
Obama - a lone misfit who woke up one day become president to find America going bananas.

But he does utter the most amazing bon mots....
