Something new — a tip jar

I’ve been blogging now since September 2004, and I’ve been doing it with a compulsive fervor that’s been unabated for more than five years now. This is not a job, it’s a passion. I’d do it if I had to walk through blizzards barefoot to get to the computer. It did occur to me, however, that I have nothing to lose by setting out a tip jar.
So, if you drag your eyes over to the right, you’ll now see a PayPal tip jar lurking in the sidebar. Please don’t feel any obligation to add money to it. However, if you do add money, I would, of course, be delighted, if only because my liberal husband, when I mentioned the idea to him, said “Why would anyone give you money?”

Hi. Sorry about the foobar comments. They should be good now.
Your husband said that!? What a meany.
He’s opposed to my politics, so he’s less than thrilled about my blog. Almost as much as my writing it, it disturbs him that people are reading it!
The more I hear about him the more of an a** he sounds like. I admire your fortitude!
Hate to throw another log on the fire, but does he know you are on the list of Blog Award Winners for 2009.
I admire your intestinal fortitude and your commitment to keeping your marital vows. I know many marriages dissolve over far less important things, and at least some people understand that politics is only for this lifetime.
Well, seeing as you are agnostic/atheist, that’s a fairly long time, but people can change their political views. Keep it up! I’ll hit the tip jar whenever I can afford it.
