The Massachusetts Miracle

A little over the top (especially music-wise), but still worth watching, if only as a reminder the a small pebble can divert a flood:

Well, since there are no comments, I’ll go off topic.
Here’s another thing that’s “over the top”, as Book said of the video she posted. This is James Cameron, apparently after winning tonight’s honors at the Golden Globes:
“‘Avatar’ asks us to see that everything is connected, all human beings to each other, and us to the Earth. And if you have to go four and a half light years to another, made-up planet to appreciate this miracle of the world that we have right here, well, you know what, that’s the wonder of cinema right there, that’s the magic,” Cameron said.
Mr. Cameron: HOW is everything connected? Please explain what you really mean…
And are all things connected “equally” in your philosophy? All plants and all animals? Should a bear eat grubs and wild strawberries? After all… they’re connected. And bears eat fish and just about damn near anything they can chase down.
Which brings us to humans. We’re omnivorous, like bears. It’s our nature. If you claim it’s the bear’s nature, then you must accept it’s our nature too. Enough sober-minded and conservative people have seen Avatar and liked it that I may very well see it during this first run. I’ll be interested to see if Cameron shows his alien people eating. What “connected things” do they eat? If they’re stand-ins for humans, as he seems to have intended, they ought to kill and eat other animals. Do they?
I like it. What ties it together for me is the “Tyrants” part in the middle showing the Triumvirate of NObama, Reid, and Pelosi. The disgust many of us have is not just for our prevaricating POTUS, but for the obscenities we have running Congress. The obscenities we have running Congress want to pass 2,000 page bills without their being read. Rational according to Congress: vote for a 2,000 page bill one hasn’t read. Irrational according to Congress: constituents who are angry at Congressmen who support and vote for 2,000 page bills they haven’t read.
