The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

I think the next morning the regulators would have come and made a hassle about there being no authorization for providing free hair cuts. Union rules must apply, no stealing jobs from the unions. And then Congressmen would be talking to the owner saying that if he cuts a deal with Congress to provide free hair cuts to them, that they would drop the matter.

I usually head each morning over to realclearpolitics.com, to check out their assembly of "today's important headlines". They deliberately choose an eclectic mix of conservative, liberal and middle-road headlines, with big name and unknown authors. I scan the headlines and click on what seems interesting.

Today quite a few of the liberal headlines looked as though they'd be interesting reads! I opened five liberal ones and three conservative ones. And read the liberal ones first.

The first two kept repeating ad nauseum, paragraph after paragraph, about how the US was shrugging off our commitment to stop the dire threat of global warming. Huh? Where HAVE these liberal authors been for the last few months? There is no dire threat, period. The fraud is over. We just saw the FOURTH claim of fraud in the news yesterday associated with the IPCC. And also, in the news yesterday, climate scientists that are pro-global warming indicated that the carbon-dioxide greenhouse accelerant effect that has them so Henny-Penny frightening, screaming at shadows, well, that greenhouse accelerant effect, they admitted, wasn't nearly as high as they'd been fearing. Seems their new numbers... well, you get the drift.

Yet our liberal authors are still frantically drumming that global warming beat; we're on the VERY EDGE of a CATASTROPHE! EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! Pardon me, but, holy crap. I heard that one just before the Presidential election, concerning the so-called "liquidity crisis", and after the government robbed us all of a generation of tax money to address that "emergency" - and then did nothing, as everyone just sat on the money... Well, I will not be fooled again.

The latter three articles were about how Obama faced *SUCH* a dire combination of nasty economic disasters left over from Bush, and how he's just trying so dang hard to valiantly deal with them, and we Neanderthal Americans just won't give Professor Brilliant a break. And there's Republican obstructionism, they lament. (Even while the Senate was filibuster-proof and the House could also do whatever it wanted, and Obama could, too... but no, Republicans were the PROBLEM, OBSTRUCTING! Hah! What a joke. There hasn't been such a weak opposition party since FDR ruled.)

So, anyway, my experiment with reading five straight liberal headlines' worth of columns ended in nausea. Time to refresh and reheat my coffee, and start digging into the conservative columns, and regain a sense of lost equilibrium and sanity.

Oldflyer #1 puts himself in Nancy Pelosi's head:
> Wonder what the little people do.

The little people buy their own booze... and probably enjoy each sip a hell of a lot more.

And Mrs. Pelosi and her husband are worth millions. Why in the hell aren't they buying their own damned booze? Freeloading ba$tard$. $1000 per week on the average? That's doin mighty fine on the taxpayer dime!

Good parable.
But, a true story; you may have seen it. The bar and food bill for Nancy Pelosi's flights on government aircraft over the past two years totals over $101,000; almost $1,000 for each and every week. If you are entitled, then you are entitled to the best--and lots of it.
Wonder what the little people do.
