This week’s nominations at the Watcher’s Council *UPDATED*

This week’s selections at the Watcher’s Council:

Council Submissions

Non-Council Submissions

UPDATE: Having read the posts and voted, I have to say that this was one of the more challenging votes for me. Often, a few posts will really jump out at me, so I can narrow the field to three or four favorites in each category or, if I’m lucky, just two, which makes voting really easy. This week, however, the posts were so good, especially in the non-Council category, that I had a really hard time selecting those two that I thought best. I urge you to check this week’s posts out. They are exceptional.

My personal favorite is Joshuapundit’s ‘Progressives Need A Palin Of Their Own?’

Is it our fault that Sarah Palin genuinely likes herself and most everyone she talks to, and really seems to enjoy every moment?

When you try to find a “feminist” on the left of stature, it’s hard.  You could perhaps select Katrina van den Heuvel, she’s on the news a lot and has her fingers into many things.  But she’s arrogant and condescending, and never really seems to be enjoying herself, ever.  Nor enjoying life.  She can’t connect the way Sarah connects.

The left remains obsessed with Sarah Palin.  In attempting to comprehend her they are like Ezekiel in Chapter One, attempting to describe the indescribable.  In their universe a thing such as Sarah Palin cannot exist, and yet she does.  She confounds them; they are utterly repelled, yet they cannot take their eyes off of her nor their thoughts away from her.  It’s amazing.
