Stealing an election?

I wrote earlier this week that I was going to vote in person, rather than by mail, which is what I usually do. There’s just too much risk that my absentee ballot will “accidentally” get lost in liberal Marin. Meanwhile, at the polling place, they scan it instantly. Better odds for a fair outcome.
In Houston, things are getting very ugly when it comes to attempts to subvert the election outcome. Melissa Clouthier has a long, detailed post about claims that Houston polling places in minority precincts are using harassment and intimidation — including judicial action.
If you find Melissa’s report interesting, please pass it along. Americans need to be aware of the way in which democracy can be stolen. Whether it’s Black Panthers whom a radical Justice Department refuses to prosecute, troops who are denied their ballots, or ordinary Americans harassed at polling places, it is all anti-democratic, and can be countered only if Americans are aware and, as they should be, outraged.

Some of the motivation for stealing this election:

And I suspect that a Republican majority Congress will get into some serious investigation of “irregularities”…which would be called criminal actions if it were stuff done by us ordinary citizens…
Recently, my wife was at a local super market where employees were being intimidated asked by union thugs organizers to complete and submit absentee ballots – as directed. All this occurred in the produce section in full view of the market patrons. Talk about being heavy-handed!
Bookworm, have you had problems with this in the past?
I ask this not to be argumentative, but because I live up the road from you in Sonoma County. I worked at the polls there for about ten years and am reasonably satisfied that the Sonoma County regsitrar’s office was honest.
If the Marin County registrar’s office is not honest, then I take that very seriously.
Absolutely no evidence, wbkrebs. Just a paranoia that’s easily alleviated by handing in my ballot personally. BTW, I’m not the only Marin conservative who is worried. Reading about voter fraud all over the place simply makes one cautious if the machinery of voting is in the opposition’s hands. But let me repeat again: I have no evidence that the Marin County registrar’s office is anything but honest.
“I have no evidence that the Marin County registrar’s office is anything but honest.”
The best evidence, of course, being that they don’t need to steal the vote. They have it already. Or at least they think they do.
I’ll be an election judge in a precinct in this county on election day.
I’m blessed with a Democrat alternate judge who has become a friend and with whom I share a commitment to fair and above board elections n our precinct. We will be following out standard operating procedure on election day — in the event we find anyone in the vicinity of our polling place acting in a manner that is a source of concern, the one of us of that individual’s party will make the request that they cease the activity. And if that individual does not cease the activity, she will back me when I use my authority under state law to direct the local cops to arrest the perps. Fortunately, it has never come to that — but we are both worried it may this year.
Lift up a few prayers for us — we are gonna need them.
