A matched set:
First, read the New York Times interview with Col. Allen West. I’m sure that New York Times readers are appropriately horrified by this militaristic, un-PC war machine kind of guy. The rest of us, of course, are very, very impressed.
Then, watch this:
The more I hear about and from this man, the more I admire him.

Shhh…if you listen carefully, you can hear the thud of bodies hitting the floor from NYT progressive readers.
Body count will rise once Col./Congressman West takes his place among the Congressional black caucus.
Ahhh..to be a fly on the wall, but not nearly as delicious as fly in their ointment.
Col. West for President!
I’ve loved Alan West from the moment I saw the first you-tube video of him, and everything I have seen since has made me think even better of him He is one of the few public figures who, if they express an opinion different from my own, will cause me to rethink my own opinion. I have that much respect for him.
Could he be President some day? I’d sure like to think so, though 2012 is a bit too soon. Of all potential Presidents, he is at or near the top of my list. I want to see how he does in Congress for a bit, however.
Col. Allen West is a fighter. We need MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE. Of people like him in Congress.
House Leader John Boehner has apparently also bought into the program. The latest (pasted from JoshuaPundit)
—–
The new GOP dominated House has a vote on repealing ObamaCare slated for January 12th.
Once that got out, the Senate Democrats, led by Harry Reid have sent a letter to incoming Speaker John Boehner warning him that they would block any attempt at repeal.
Boehner’s response? Classic:
Senators Reid, Durbin, Schumer, Murray and Stabenow:
Thank you for reminding us — and the American people — of the backroom deal that you struck behind closed doors with ‘Big Pharma,’ resulting in bigger profits for the drug companies, and higher prescription drug costs for 33 million seniors enrolled in Medicare Part D, at a cost to the taxpayers of $42.6 billion.
The House is going to pass legislation to repeal that now. You’re welcome.
John Boehner, Speaker.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!! Booyah! If these patriots keep this up, I am going to start actually respecting them again.
Oh my. Oh my. That was awesome. Truly, I am filled with awe to hear that kind of plain-speaking from someone in the government.
Christie-West 2012
West-Christie 2012
Although I’m still pretty much in love with the idea of Christie-Bolton.
Oh, and the NYT interview was very funny – it was nearly possible to see the steam rising off of both parties, the reporter because he couldn’t get a rise out of West, and West because the reporter was such a partisan jerk wasting his time.
They’re facing somebody they don’t know how to deal with. A republican that won’t bow his head to them and beg them for “acceptance”.
One of the biggest problems with ‘conservative’ politicians is that they really don’t believe in their positions enough to really stand up for them. I don’t know how much of it is not wanting to appear as ‘extreme’, or comes from a desire for acceptance on the part of the liberal media or comes from not being truly conservative. But such wimpy conservatives certainly hurt the cause because by not standing up for tehir own positions they don’t force liberals to defend their own sorry track record.
This is one thing I expect from Allen West – he is going to knock liberals back on their rear ends. We’ll see if they can get back up again. Probably, since the media will always give them a hand. But he is going to make them go on the defensive, which is more than I can say for most conservative politicians. I’m looking forward to some fireworks.
