Still working Open Thread

I’m putting the finishing touches on the first drafts of a demurrer and motion to strike, so I’m in lawyer mode.  My writing has become appropriately boring, obfuscatory and pompous, so you should all be very grateful that I’m not visiting it on you this morning.  I’ll get back here as soon as I can — with, one hopes, my usual literary sparkle intact.

Bravo to  Charlie Sheen for making the following statement on Egypt!: http://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/news/a301979/charlie-sheen-rumors-about-me-are-crap.html
Think what we will about his “lifestyle” but he puts things into perspective pretty well. As far as I know, he has never made apologies for what he has done, never tried to cover things up, never asked for somebody else to pay for his mistakes, never backtracked on anything. He paid for what he got (very well from reports) and as far as is known none of this hired temps have never complained.
Another practical statement from one abused by the media is from Hosni Mubarak who proclaimed that if he just left office Egypt would degenerate into chaos. One would think that this would be of prime consideration, unless one, or course, wants exactly this to happen.
