Muslims for Israel

Via Frontpagemagazine.com comes an optimistic post about European organizations springing up to defend Israel, starting with a British group called “Muslims for Israel”.

Like fireflies twinkling in the gathering dusk, this is a cheerful sight. May their light guide us through the night and into the bright dawn of a new day.

But fireflies live only for a momentary moment before the night engulfs them.

Ah, Ymar. Good point, one on which I hope you prove totally wrong.

Beautiful sentiments, Danny. I hope the idea catches on in the court system.

A man has been jailed for 70 days today after he burnt a copy of the Koran just over a month after a Muslim got away with a paltry £50 fine for a similar offence.
Andrew Ryan, 32, stole a copy of the holy book from Carlisle Library then set it on fire by a monument in the city of Carlisle.
Last month Emdadur Choudhury was fined after he burned a poppy outside the Royal Albert Hall in London on Remembrance Day while shouting ‘British soldiers burn in hell’.
As he was led down to the cells, Ryan shouted at the judge at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court today: ‘What about burning poppies?’.

Sadie, the Koran burner was speaking out of turn. He needs to remember his place. Which is to shut up and do as he is told by his betters.

Isn’t that how it works in the European system.

Don’t expect this Muslim outlier to became mainstream at any time. The Qu’ran is very clear and adamant about its Jew hatred, and since it is the uncreated, eternal word of God, it cannot be changed or reinterpreted.

Yes, most Muslims are peaceful people who are not looking to savage or murder. So were most Germans before WWII. When the seeds of savagery are embedded in your sacred texts (Qu’ran, Mein Kampf), it is only a few short steps from peaceableness to frantic mayhem in the name of God or the master race.

The difficult thing for folks like this who live in Europe is that the State forbids you the right to defend yourself.

In our country, anyone who comes to my house with murder in his heart has got to be aware that I may very well use deadly force to protect myself…and the government (generally) supports me in my choice of effective defensive weaponry, as well as in its use.

In the UK, self-defense that ends in damaging the attacker may very well lead to a lawsuit against the defender by his attacker, and the State will even fund an indigent criminal against his victim.

The world is a crazy, crazy place.

By the way, the guy who burned the Koran may have been jailed, at least in part, for the theft of the book from the library.  That, at least, is one substantive difference between what he did and the Muslim burning of the poppy.  I suspect that those two actions would be treated differently in this country, as well — even if political correctness did not play a part.
