Nice thrust at the BHBS: BH for bleeding heart and BS for what they’re flinging about the “aimless / disengaged /poorly educated youth” of the UK.

Not all of the rioters are drug addicts. At least one girl is an 18 yr old London Olympics ambassador.

And not all the children with inadequate opportunity are in African countries. Some are right here in America picking blueberries for WalMart and Kroger Supermarket. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/young-children-working-blueberry-fields-walmart-severs-ties/story?id=8951044 . Good thing the kids weren’t caught selling lemonaide in front of their homes.

I already told people here what I think. Getting rid of the hoodlums will do pretty much 0 to decrease crime in Britain. If you really want to get rid of this crime wave, you need to go to the top and Get Rid of the Politicians. Permanently.

Straight up. And if people are afraid of that happening, well…

they can always wait for a riot or some guy going on an Oslo killing spree to solve it FOR THEM. Okay? Okay. Let’s wait for that then. Good luck all you punks in Europe. Hope you’re feeling lucky.

I believe I have seen this guy before. He is absolutely right on about what is going on over there. It’ll probably start in urban areas here too when we finally elect people with the guts/smarts it is going to take to start paring down the USA entitlement programs. Just this evening I was discussing this situation with a friend of mine who is a law enforcement officer. We both agreed the community organizers will start stirring the uneducated masses once the cuts are made. I learned tonight btw that my friend is now following the Bookworm Room because I mentioned things I had read here. In fact tonight he made mention of the Narcissist Post.

Sadie strikes again. I just spent some time over at American Digest.

It has begun in scattered cities across America. The newest community organizer is “twitter”. It’s like carrying around a portable “hit man” in the wrong hands.  Anyway, I was thinking about the “what ifs” and while we (we, conservatives) would like to see Obama gone in the next election – there are almost as many that don’t. The “don’ts” are already pretty damn angry. We’ve witnessed to what extent they’ll push back … Wisconsin recall effort.

All of the above to say, read beyond the snip below and all of it at the link and ask yourself “what if” What if Obama is a one term president.

As America’s most famous minority, Blacks are now outnumbered by Hispanics and are being by-passed by virtually all other minority in America in terms of achievement and upward mobility. The chains may have been removed, but, as the syndicated columnist. Walter E. Williams, noted in July 2010, “The pathology seen among a large segment of the Black population is not likely to change because it is not seen for what it is. It has little to do with slavery, poverty and racial discrimination.”
“Today’s black illegitimacy rate is about 70%,” said Williams. “When I was a youngster, during the 1940s, illegitimacy was around 15%…Today, only 35% of black children are raised in two-parent households.”
And it gets worse. In an August 2010 Washington Post article by columnist George Will, he wrote that “By the early 2000s, more than a third of all young black non-college men were under the supervision of the corrections system. More than 60% of black high school dropouts born since the mid-1960s go to prison. Mass incarceration blights the prospects of black women.”

best grin of the day, pst!
And yes, that was a classic and wonderful Pat Condell speech.  Parasitic vermin!  I love it and it’s truth.

Sadie, your statistics in #13 are depressing.   I’ll repeat what you wrote concerning black illegitimacy:
“Today’s black illegitimacy rate is about 70%,” said Williams. “When I was a youngster, during the 1940s, illegitimacy was around 15%…Today, only 35% of black children are raised in two-parent households.”  And it gets worse.      Those who want to blame slavery for these problems have to explain how, in the 40s, illegitimacy could be 15%, and now is so much worse.  How can *that* be explained as a lingering effect of slavery, rather than the effect of something that occurred after the 40s, such as, say, LBJ’s (and the liberal) “war on poverty”. the institutionalization of poverty via welfare?  Or at least blame it on a 60′s song, such as “Yummy Yummy Yummy (I’ve Got Love In My Tummy)”.  Something, anything, as long as it’s after the 40′s!  Heck, even blame George Bush if you want to, at least he was after the 40′s!

The liberal rage in Wisconsin, and the burgeoning liberal violence, is breathtaking to behold.  And you’re right… they’re only getting warmed up.

Just to clarify, the stats are from the article. Puhleeze, I don’t want to get wiki.wacki.wooed.com.url’d into next week. Me, I am just the bearer of reality checks and balances.

Peggy Noonan penned an article a few days ago that was mostly good.

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:vRyJ9rRDnsUJ:online.wsj.com/article/declarations.html+Après+le+Déluge,+What%3F&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a&source=www.google.com

Then she blew it with her summary:

Where does that leave us? In a hard place, knowing in our guts that a lot of troubled kids are coming up, and not knowing what to do about it. The problem, at bottom, is love, something we never talk about in public policy discussions because it’s too soft and can’t be quantified or legislated. But little children without love and guidance are afraid. They’re terrified—they have nothing solid in the world, which is a pretty scary place. So they never feel safe. As they grow, their fear becomes rage. Further on, the rage can be expressed in violence. This is especially true of boys, but it’s increasingly true of girls.

What these hooligan yoots lack is parental discipline, not parental love.  I’ve seen plenty of examples in my life where love without discipline leads the children completely astray, sometimes into violence, sometimes into rampant drug use, always into crisis.  A lack of discipline is the problem.  Not a lack of love.  Peggy’s gone all RINO-soft and squishy again.

The hooligans – vermin, as Condell would put it – need a strong disciplinarian hand applied to them, not a group hug.  Although as most responsibile adults will tell you, once they’re teenagers and have formed themselves into young adults without discipline, the opportunity for discipline to save them from a life of misery is limited at best.  And it’s not just their own misery, it’s the misery they’re going to cause to everyone around them.
