11B40 - I agree and attempted to express the same sentiments in another thread but not as eloquently as you commented in your post. The system is infected by termites and they're gnawing away at the infrastructure. I'd say, metaphorically, call in the Orkin Man, but they would insist that 17 different agencies issue a permit before any work could be done and still do nothing but form another committee.

Greetings:

I'm not much of a brainiac on the political end of things, but all the emphasis on the 2012 Presidential election is beginning to look to me like what they used to refer to as a "target fixation" in my helicopter flight school days.

The Obama administration and the Reid and Pelosi gangs have pretty well corrupted the whole of the Federal government. The correcting that will need to be done won't be done by putting a new butt in the Big Chair at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The morass of dysfunctional legislation that has been passed and signed into law over the last couple of decades, the regulatory agency abominations which will probably show up even more regularly as the Obama administration senses its demise, and the all the subversive miscreants that have been inserted into the Federal workforce will require, in my mind, a one-party government to have any serious level of success.

And yet, this issue doesn't seem to be coming anywhere near the fore in the punditry that I read and view.

It ain't dark, but it's getting there. Bob Dylan sang that.
