OWS and Barack Obama, as seen on facebook

My liberal friends have been posting today, and two things caught my eye. First, this:
So if I understand correctly, Jesus, who was the son of God, and these guys are pretty much one and the same?
I know that those who love destruction and chaos (as opposed to one who offered salvation) are very excited about this, but I have to believe that stable people — who tend to vote — would like to see this anarchy end as soon as possible. For a good look at the illogical anger and lizard brain antisemitism driving OWS, you can’t do better than Chris Muir.
The other thing I saw on facebook was this campaign poster:
Is it just me, or does that look remarkably like someone drawing a target on Obama’s back? I consider that a most unfortunate and really quite creepy image.

Very creepy. The target circle on Obama’s back is very close to the point where Oswald’s second bulllet hit JFK on 11/22/63.
Not that the idiot children who are squatting at various OWS sites would know about that. Two-hundred thousand-dollar majors in Womyn’s studies, English Lit and Queer Discourse tend to leave students remarkably ignorant.
Message to: Two-face(d)book liberal friends, you don’t get to cherry pick biblical passages.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife;you shall not covet your neighbor’s belonging.
On the basis that the internet goes everywhere; you never know who might be looking in, and you can’t trust this government one single, solitary inch – no comment.
The Chris Muir cartoon is great. It reminded me of this Friday Funny – the guilt of Tesla Seems Colorado is offering a $50k tax break if you buy a Tesla. Or to put it another way, ” Environmentalists took money from the poor to pay me to buy this car” It is the best bumper sticker ever.
I left the Big Bang to Intelligent Design alone (tempted) but I think you ought to know your liberal friends missed a point with Jesus. Jesus never got mad at prostitutes, thieves, traitors (he called Judas “friend” when he was betraying Jesus) and any number of other sinners. The only people he ever got mad at were religious hypocrites. The only people he ever got physically violent with were religious hypocrites who had turned the Jewish Temple into their version of Wal-Mart. The issue wasn’t money; though Jesus talked a lot about money. It was quite literally blasphemy: taking God’s name in vain by telling people that your little “religious” business was so God-approved you conducted it in the Temple.
Though I do have a few candidates today who might fall into that category, none of them are in the White House.
Old Soldier: I agree with you completely about the misappropriate of Jesus. Had Jesus had a problem with trade, he would have overturned the tables in the suk, not in the Temple.
I may not be a religious person myself, but I hate seeing the Bible twisted. I hate seeing any text twisted. It’s a form of mental corruption that is just so wrong.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
If Jesus was the first Occupy Wall Street Protester, then all the rest of them out there today have sure missed something in the translation. Big Time!
If Jesus had preached the Beatitudes at the start of his “Sermon On The Mount…ain Of Garbage”, then I might be willing to identify Him with the Occupy Wall Street Protest bowel movement. (I know, I shouldn’t pun with the Bible, it is beneath me.)
By the way, if *anyone* reading this is seriously inclined to take that poster seriously, thinking, “Hmmm, they have a point, Jesus *was* sort of like the first Occupy Wall Street Poster, ya know?”… Well, consider: If Jesus was the FIRST of anything, that implies that there is a second, and a third, and a fourth, and so on – which we have seen now, in 2011, with the OWS protesters. But how long should it have taken for the SECOND one to appear? Does it really make any sense at all that it would take almost two thousand years before the SECOND “Occupy Wall Street Protester” appeared, to follow Jesus’ example? If you think about it, it actually starts to become offensive, to steal from God in this way.
This is more like taking Jesus’ name in vain than it is making a valid comparison. And the halo in the picture implies that the author accepts Jesus’ divinity. A word to you, fella: Are you *sure* you want to appropriate God’s Plan into your protest movement? Do you really know the mind of God? You’ve got that direct hotline to God, and he’s told you he’s “with you, bro” on OWS? Are you*certain* you want to answer for this when you stand before Him for Judgment?
There are so many ways to criticize this (and to even be offended at the use of Jesus in disgusting propaganda). Yes, go ahead and be offended, for it is offensive! Jesus didn’t chase the moneychangers out of the Temple because they were engaging in financial transactions; he chased them out because they were doing so IN THE TEMPLE. He wasn’t attacking what they were doing, just where they were doing it, violating the sanctity of the religious (holy) building.
But, ah, why try reasoning with these people? It’s a waste of time.
If people want chaos, I have some great ideas about how to use violence to achieve such. But then some people may misunderstand and call that a war, or a mass slaughter of civilians… or something.
The Left and Democrats are dumb as nuts about religion. What the hell do they know about Christianity, Jesus, Mohammed, or Islam? Not a damn thing, that’s what. Bunch of fascist hypocrites think they can tell us who is who eh?
