Newt just went up in my estimation

Hold onto your hats, folks, because this is a BIG ONE.  I mean, this is the kind of thing that can make or break elections.  Are you ready?

NEWT IS AN ABBA FAN (although he loses points for liking it as presented in the movie, which is lousy, rather than appreciating it as sung by the original ABBA crew)!!!

Because I too am an ABBA fan (although Dancing Queen is not one of my favorites), I now feel it is incumbent upon me to vote for him.  Right?  I mean, isn’t this how the popularity contest . . . er, political process works?

Here is a better ABBA song, and one worth remembering given that we live in a political climate based upon complete denial when it comes to genuine threats:

I like the Latma version of an ABBA song, although the Swedes would disagree.

I appreciate your sense of humor! But maybe you should talk yourself down with this:  Why This Shouldn’t Be Newt’s Moment:

The fact remains that there is no perfect candidate. So we have to decide which factors are most important to us since none of us will get all that we want. I think Newt and I probably have the most in common, but I’m pretty sure that’s not what makes for a good President.

hahah OH, Book, I should say I wasn’t expecting that.

Zabrina:  I’m being silly here, but I like Newt.  I also like the fact that the skeletons all seem to have left his closet already and to be dancing merrily in the streets.  In other words, what bad things is the media going to tell us about him that we don’t already know?

They’ll think of plenty, even if they have to make it up.

Unlike with George W., Herman Cain, or Rick Perry, at least our beloved MSM couldn’t proceed with the silly meme that Newt Gingrich is dumb.

Al Gore was demonstrably dumber than George W… and we all know why Obama won’t unseal his college transcripts…

Rick Perry’s not dumb.  As for Herman Cain, I’m extremely disappointed that he hasn’t picked up his political game, but one look at is record of accomplishments at university and in business make it clear he’s not at all dumb.

Mike:  We must be on the same wavelength, because that’s precisely what I was thinking about today.  Whether our ultimate candidate is Mitt or Newt, and I think it will be one or the other, the one thing the MSM cannot raise as a cudgel against either man is intelligence.  Both of these men are manifestly, objectly, highly intelligent.  Indeed, looking at what I just write, the main problem with both of them is the names.  I mean, really!  Mitt?  Newt?  Huh?

Not even media propaganda can put back a decapitated person’s head and convince everyone he was never dead. Just something propaganda isn’t suited for. Better to convince people that the person was only “temporarily” dead.
