No muss, no fuss. Just getting the job (dolphin rescue) done

The friend who sent this video to me noticed what’s so fascinating:  the pragmatic approach the Brazilian rescuers had.  Without any undue energy or hysteria, they just waded into the surf and did what needed to me done:

Scientists have long wondered why dolphins beach themselves. Hypotheses have run the gamut from parasitic ear infections to sonar booms to mass suicide.

Looking at this video, it seems as if the dolphin pod was following a food source that got too close to shore. At some point, the receding waves did not allow the dolphins to return to the surf.

An inspiring video…like you said, Book.

What impressed me most was what Danny mentioned — for all their vaunted “intelligence”, those dolphins all stranded themselves with abandon….

If they’re paying so much attention to the food they’re chasing they fail to notice that they’re getting into REALLY shallow water, then they may have lots of intelligence, but they’re still pretty stupid creatures!

    I mean, really…….

oooo, oooo, I know, I know!  The dolphins are beaching themselves in mass suicide because they are so distressed about global warming, I mean, climate change!  What those evil, evil humans are doing!

This particular beaching was a protest by the dolphins against Anthony Kennedy for making all those nasty remarks that ObamaCare’s Individual Mandate is unconstitutional by redefining the relationship of American citizens to their government.

And if you even say the words “Scott Walker Wisconsin” to them, the dolphins will immediately beach themselves again.  If you understood dolphin lingo, you’d know they’re saying ‘Win the Recall!  Win the Recall!”

Mike D:  “And if you even say the words “Scott Walker Wisconsin” to them, the dolphins will immediately beach themselves again.”

Somebody must have said that, because some of the saved dolphins headed right back towards the beach.  The rescuers practically had to kill them to save them.

In America, those people are known as criminals and National Marine Fisheries Service would make a fortune in fines as I doubt any of them have been to diversity or sensitivity training.  Nor have a Ph.D.

Earl (#2) said, “If they’re paying so much attention to the food they’re chasing they fail to notice that they’re getting into REALLY shallow water, then they may have lots of intelligence, but they’re still pretty stupid creatures!”

Then again, Earl, they really are like people. Think of all the Liberal-Lefties greedily and furiously pursuing their entitlements into shallower and shallower waters until they, too, end up beached in the face of receding economic waves, out of element and dependent upon the kindness of others for their very survival.

    Like you said, pretty stupid!
