Thus fallout shelters became a reality, and some of the only survivors survived in these underground miniature cities: Vaults. Much of the music and propaganda shown was set in 1950s cultural mode and aesthetics. The new Fallout 3 sequel produced by Bethesda, really  brings out the atmosphere of a post apocalyptic America that had its glory days based around 1950s cultural cues.
