“Born in Kenya” — not a claim from the Birthers, but from Obama’s own literary agents, back in 1991

Breitbart.com dropped a bombshell:
Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama’s then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”
The booklet, which was distributed to “business colleagues” in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.

Does this mean Obama was in fact born in Kenya? Who knows. I doubt that the literary agent came up with this biographical data on her own, or that it went by Obama without his approval. Either Obama fed this information to the literary agent, or he happily accepted the statement because it gave him a commercial advantage.
Assuming Obama fed the information to the agent, it still doesn’t answer whether Obama was actually born in Kenya or if he was re-making himself to obtain a monetary advantage (cool internationalist versus garden-variety American guy). The one thing we know with absolute certainty, though, is that Obama lies, and then he lies again, and then he lies about his lies. He’s remade himself so many times that, absent reliable documentation from August 1961, it’s still not possible to separate truth from fiction when it comes to Obama’s personal history.

You ain’t kidding about Obama’s lies. There’s one in the promotional blurb. Since when did Obama works as a “financial journalist” There’s another potential bombshell in that bio blurb. It states that Obama was project co-ordinator for the New York Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) You have any idea how way left those PIRG groups were. I had a brief contact with one in Colorado. One of the things they do is send people door to door soliciting contributions, all the while concealing the far left nature of the organization itself.
You’re so right about the PIRGs, Lennie. In addition to their dreadful politics, they were notoriously awful employers, to the point that some people were trying to unionize them, which the PIRGs fought tooth and nail, and their abuse of their employees did make the papers at least once.
I was starting to think, given O’s propensity for lying, that he was a full-blown sociopath instead of just a narcissist. But O’s lies all have a purpose: the boundless aggrandizement of O whereas an antisocial personality will lie simply because he feels like opening his mouth, whether the lie serves any purpose or not.
It’s truly appalling that the media didn’t pay any attention to him at all in 2008. Not surprising, but appalling. You would think the media would understand why we can’t let that happen again. I would never expect them to agree with it and not to fight it, but they ought not be surprised.
Obama’s White House bio says he “graduated” Columbia University; the promo says he “attended” Columbia. Just another partial truth. Or, is it a partial lie?
There is no doubt that Obama graduated from Columbia. My problem is how did he manage to complete the requirements to graduate in only two years? Obama had studied for two years at Occidental College. Let’s assume that Columbia accepted every one of Obama’s Occidental courses as credits toward his Columbia degree. Obama would still have to satisfy Columbia’s stringent requirements called the Core Curriculum.

My guess is that Obama actually studied at Columbia’s School of General Studies for “nontraditional students”. This school probably gave Obama the flexibility he needed to graduate in two years. As Obama’s national profile rose, he probably asked the University to tell the world that he graduated from Columbia College. The College has far higher prestige than the School of General Studies. Columbia would be glad to play along with this pretense.
A comment on the telegraph.co.uk article postulated that the reason Obama won’t release his college records is because he applied as a foreign student.
Why would the media turn on the Left? That makes no sense. That’d be like the German SS turning on Hitler and trying to assassinate him.
That’s not the makeup of a sociopath either, what Tone wrote.
This is all fascinating. If the past MO of the Breitbart gang is anything to go by, this is only the first punch, designed to draw shrieking Liberal/Left harridans out from their lairs straight into the arms of an ambush.
Breitbart lives.
Where he was born is not relevant to his ineligibility for the Presidency. Or the fact that he is probably not to this day a citizen of the United States of America.

When Obama sets off a nuke in the US, and the media reports it as an act of Right Wing terrorism, will the AMerican people believe it was Obama that was the cause or right wing militias?
That’s an interesting question, Ymar. If such a nuke went off, and the Administration arrested and claimed to have the evidence to point to a right wing militia in some State for it. And they showed the “proof”, but that proof had something odd about it that left people able to believe either version – which way WOULD most Americans go?
We have something similar to that with Fast And Furious, the gunrunner scandal. Some see evidence that the whole program was part of an orchestrated campaign by the Administration to restrict our 2nd Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. (That the whole purpose of Fast And Furious was actually to promote gun control.)
Nuking your own countrymen woould be grounds not only for impeachment, but for the death penalty of course. Talk about an event that would live in infamy. I’m not all that worried about it. I’ll leave that kind of evil to the minds of all those far-out Truther liberals who remain convinced that the Bush Administration did that very thing with 9-11.
It’s pretty easy to see if a conspiracy is true or not. All you have to do is apply the logical conclusion to the claims. If Bush was ruthless and cunning enough to do what the Truthers said, all the Truthers would have disappeared, forever dropped over the Marineas Trench or over the Pacific, weighted with Chinese lead ingots, and never be seen again. And yet, curiously, they keep talking like they’re alive. They’re not afraid to disclose their identities or who their families are either. It’s as if they only half believe what they are saying.
However, notice that these same Truthers won’t ever speak out against Obama’s Black Panthers. Eric Holder might actually do something to them and they kno wit.
