I’m getting ready for Memorial Day by reading Marcus Luttrell’s Service : A Navy Seal At War

I got myself a copy of Marcus Luttrell’s Service: A Navy SEAL at War, which I am very much looking forward to reading. I loved his Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10, even though it made me cry — which is not something I usually look for in a book.

In his first book, written with Patrick Robinson, Luttrell came across as an extremely appealing character — patriotic, insanely committed to the service, humble, funny, and a little bit snarky. In his most recent book, Luttrell is getting help from James D. Hornfischer. I hope that I get to hear the same “Luttrell” voice in my head. I’ll keep you guys posted.
