The best things anybody ever said

Since I’ve retired and am preparing to move, I’ve been sorting through all of my books.  I came across a book called “1,911 Best Things Anybody Ever Said” by Robert Byrne.  I must say my tastes are very different than Byrne’s tastes.  For example, he quotes Woody Allen WAY too much.  But there are enough gems that I think we can have some fun with them while Bookworm is on vacation.  I’ll share some quotes from the book.  I’d love it if you all could share some of your favorite quotes as well.

To get started — “One is not superior merely because one sees the world as odious.”  Chateaubriand (1768-1848).

“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”  Will Rogers (1879-1935).

What are your favorite quotes?
