Obama finally reaches his true media comfort level

Our president has been in the news lately for scorning the Washington press — this, despite the fact that these “journalists” have pretty much been playing on his team since Day 1.  Apparently even friendly pitches about politics have become too dangerous for President Obama.  Instead, he’s trotted over to People Magazine and offered this scintillating information to the American people:

President Barack Obama says actor George Clooney is a good friend and a good person who is sensitive about protecting that friendship.

Obama says Clooney is low-maintenance and doesn’t take advantage of their friendship. He says Clooney keeps his distance so that Obama won’t be criticized for hanging out with Hollywood celebrities.

See, Obama and Clooney, they’re just like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, or Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder in Silver Streak, or, or . . . well, just about any other bromance movie.  But don’t get any ideas about there being a real bromance here.  Mrs. Obama does her duty by assuring us that Clooney is a w0man’s man:  “He’s cute, too.”

And there you have it, folks.  News you can use during a pivotal election, one that promises to determine forever America’s constitutional direction.
