Greg Gutfeld’s book about the “Tyranny of Cool.”

Thanks to a handy-dandy Amazon gift certificate, I just bought myself a Kindle copy of Greg Gutfeld’s The Joy of Hate: How to Triumph over Whiners in the Age of Phony Outrage.  It sounds like a book that is simultaneously important and enjoyable.  I’ll be reading it with a close eye, because his ideas about challenging Hollywood’s pop culture feed into the ideas that Lulu and I are playing with.

I don’t think there’s any question about it. A very significant % of the people who vote Dem do so because they thin it will number them among the Kool Kidz.

Not surprising among Hollywood types, nor so much among academics. But bne would think that someone who has made a few hundred million dollars as a hedge fund manager, or a software venture CEO, wouldn’t be too concerned about playing middle-school inner-circle games….but many are.

Don’t challenge pop culture, push it into reality.  We are already seeing the supposed Progressives horrified at what they’ve wrought.  Look at the outrage at the transgender woman using the women’s locker room at Evergreen College.  Or the moralizing over the consensual legal sexual encounter between the 50-yr old who does Elmo’s voice and an 18-yr old.  The “Progressives” as they age are horrified at the reality of male genitalia in the women’s locker room or an age disparity of 30 yrs in a sexual encounter.  One thing to push, no separation by genitalia in room assignments at college or the military.  Same sex bathrooms.

It is what they wanted so let’s see they live in their utopia.

“Progressives’” unfiltered reactions show that there’s still a part of them that can be shocked, but don’t think that years of conditioning won’t soon kick in. Once they see how uncool and non-inclusive it is to suggest that a man who walks around showing his package to little girls is either a pervert or mentally ill, they’ll have to shut up.

Charles the Hammer: “Once they see how uncool and non-inclusive it is to suggest that a man who walks around showing his package to little girls is either a pervert or mentally ill, they’ll have to shut up.”

Or, maybe not. That was then, this is now. Democrat values rule!
