I was just relieved to learn that the writer was not my son’s classmate in Montessori school. (Of the same name)After that, everything else is pretty smooth.

Yea, the piece is horrible. I saw something on an Anglican Facebook discussion forum, from someone commenting on the election and the racists who had voted Republican.I suggested that he “friend” me, as politics was not an appropriate topic for that group, but we could discuss the topic privately. He sent me a lengthy message along the same lines as his comment, and I tried to answer him with facts. What a mistake! He just exploded and called me “typical Conservative racist.” Everything I do not like is not Jello, although I really despise that substance. Nevertheless, everything this young man dislikes, probably including halitosis, is raaaacism. It is just impossible to make any head way upstream from their starting point, which is that everyone is racist. I realize that most of you encounter this sort of thing all the time, but it was absolutely shocking.

It’s just another example of that closed world. It’s kind of like a self-enclosed, endlessly circling loop.

1. America is evil. Israel is evil. Conservatives are evil.
2. If America or Israel or conservatives do anything that APPEARS to be good, WARNING! WARNING! It must be evil, and not good. Because everything that they do is evil.
3. If a conservative does something, it’s evil. If a liberal does the same thing, it’s good.
4. It is good to be tolerant and accepting of everything except evil. That’s why you do not have to tolerate or accept America, Israel, or conservatives. Because they are evil. But you should tolerate and accept everything else.

These are very simple rules to live by. Which part are you finding difficult to understand?
