ah, I just think Obama learned from his mother, his grandparents, and Frank Marshall Davis, to hate everything, EVERYTHING, that was considered classically and traditionally American. To a lesser degree, also anything Western. And all of this was enforced by the culture and schooling he received during all of his formative years in Indonesia.

It may be possible that intellectually, on the surface, he has come to appreciate *some* things that are uniquely American. But I am convinced that by now his hatred of traditional Western and American influences runs so deep as to be practically genetic.

As for all of his respect for the hijab, it seems to part of his overall appreciation for Muslim culture (from Indonesia) and, not to venture to far into pop psychology, but given his unstable upbringing, there’s probably some comfort in how controlled and predictable Muslim culture is compared to the chaos of the US.

It’s passive-aggressive. Obama is ruled by women and has no moral center of his own, but he resents that role. So when the opportunity arises to disrespect women without Michelle or Valerie watching, he takes it.
A real man values the women in his life – mother, daughter, wife, sister – and fulfills his obligations to them as his responsibility, without rancor.
I would pray that someday Obama grows up, but history is not heartening; Jimmy Carter persists in folly three decades after he ought to have been enlightened.
