The thing about this story is that even Americans now can declare bankruptcy. But they won't be able to once the Left enforces federal loans over everbody, where you have to buy what they tell you to buy. The education loans are already like this. Slippery slope? No, it's already here. There's no slope. We're already in the hell pit where SWAT comes by and breaks down doors because you refused to pay your college loans.

Sadie, I think Eric Holder very well understood cause and effect when he told Americans to sell guns to Mexican drug cartels on pain of closing down said gun owner's shop.

They knew what would happen when they released their political enemy's divorce records too.

The Left absolutely knows that A causes B. It's not foolishness or stupidity or "incompetence" as people like to tell themselves. They cast blame on others because that's just to get rid of the blame on themselves. They do so because when given a choice between plenty for everyone and a huge bank account only for themselves, they chose the evil option.

I doubt the lesson worked. We are still suffering from an economy that went downhill because households did the type of spending you describe. It doesn't make any difference that "big banks" helped them do it. The people doing this type of spending are still blaming their problems on everything except themselves. They'll do the same with government spending.

Nicely said, Lulu. Unfortunately, the concept of "cause and effect" eludes liberals. They will continue to cast blame elsewhere, anywhere and on anyone but themselves. They're proud owners of the "magic mirror" on the wall.

Beautifully written, Lulu. I hope Book can coax many more comments from you!

What Danny and Caped said: This is way over liberals' heads. They will lose interest as soon as it dawns on them that the boyfriend is Obama. Ever had a woman friend who has gotten entangled with a a sweet talking BF? You might as well talk to a wall.

So here's what happens: 1. The whole Potemkin village collapses and "progressives" experience their first not-so-thrilling kiss with reality and wake up. Doubtful. 2. The whole Potemkin village collapses and the enraged mob comes after white men, Republicans, the rich, conservatives, orthodox Catholics and Jooos to get it all back.

I choose Option 2.
