rick9911,

Try disabling JavaScript in your browser's settings and see if it makes a difference (I'll bet it does). As this page is currently comprised this evening, your browser needs to talk not just to bookwormroom.com, but fifteen others as well. If any one of those is feeling a little pokey, your browser just politely sits and waits for it.

If that turns out to be the problem, and if you're on Firefox, I'd highly recommend downloading the NoScript add-on (free), which lets you fine-tune when and where you allow JavaScript, with a starting default of "NEVER!!!" And I would guess that there are equivalent add-ons for other browsers as well. Helps your browsing speed, browsing security, and blood pressure. ;)

Did that once in college. I was photographing an intramural volleyball game for the university paper. I saw the ball coming through the viewfinder, but it was such a good shot I couldn't waste it. I snapped the shot and quickly got the camera down before it was damage and took the ball straight to the nose. Blood everywhere, but it was worth it - that was the shot the paper published and everyone knew of my dedication to the craft. Damn, what a doofus.
