The mediocrity of the Democratic party's "intellects"--Biden, Boxer, Warren, Krugman--reminds me of the old Soviet nomenklatura. The key to Bolshevism's success was the elimination of intelligence and intelligent people from mainstream society. I suppose there’s the possibility of a silver lining here: If the Democratic Party has its way with America, and we become something as clueless as a France or Argentina, such a regime will be able to last as long as it can sustain the illusions of competence and means. Once reality kicks in, though, it will crumble quickly, but not without great cost in lives and treasure.
