The problem with using a foreign country as a story is that it is too abstract. People can just say that they have never been to the UK, that their problems won’t become our problems. It easily lets people de personalize the strangers.

However, if one were to use the NOPD confiscation of guns in New Orleans before Katrina’s human man hunt terror began… then one can make use of previous propaganda personalization efforts in the now.

I thought this was going to be the story of the man in Minnesota who killed two (older) teens who had broken into his home. The families of the young people (cousins) could not say enough good things about them. However, it turns out that at least the young woman had a substance abuse problem, the young man had a criminal record related to burglery, and they were apparently looking for weapons and (prescription) drugs, as they had stuff in the guy’s car that had been taken in previous neighborhood burgleries.

The homeowner in this case had been robbed before, and sadly, being elderly (70s) and developing dementia issues, waiting a day before going to police. Last I read, they were going to throw the book at him, due to the vocal supporters of these stupid criminal kids. Where’s the admission these two were on the wrong path? (Kind of like the Trevyon pictures & family statements).

Personal responsibilty. Something these families do not seem to be teaching their kids– you do something wrong like this, there will be consequences. Some might be pretty permanent.

The situation in the UK is really out of hand though. People are simply no longer ALLOWED, under law, to protect themselves or their property. Disgusting.
