For those who love camp, a wacky Italian song from 1965

Before a friend posted this video on Facebook, I’d never heard of Alice and Ellen Kessler. Now I know that they are twins who were born in 1936 into Nazi Germany, whose found themselves on the Soviet side of the wall in post-War Germany, and whose parents eventually managed to escape to Western Germany, where the girls found fame and fortune in both Germany and Italy. Interesting story all around.

As for me, I just love the mid-60s European vibe:

Having watched this a couple of times, the only thing I’m left wondering is where they found all those short men to dance in the chorus behind those two elegant, emaciated singers.
