Book says: Of course, the best advice the President could have given to Kildee about broken cities and states would have been that those cities and states, almost all of which have been under Democrat one-party rule for decades, should try electing some conservatives for a change.

It’s kind of related to Book’s “broken cities and states” : Today, in Cyprus, the EU and the government of Cyprus agreed to raid all bank deposit accounts of 10% for over $100,000 EU, and 6.75% for under $100,000 EU, and steal that money to pay for a bailout.

Remember, everything that happens in the EU will be happening here, down the road, if we do not manage to change course. They might not raid our deposit accounts, but you’ve heard all the rumblings concerning our 401K and retirement accounts. Our CongressCritters are eyeing all that happy money with all the greed and avarice that they can muster. All that easy money, just SITTING THERE, waiting for the government to take it and, to use Obama’s words, invest it for our greater good.

And just remember, they will only be “ASKING” for your kind of folk to give “your fair share”.
I always wonder how the word “ASK” can be used to represent forced confiscation of wealth, but I never get an answer. They – and by ‘they’ I mean liberals in government – always use the word ‘ask’, and they always say it’s just your ‘fair share’, and if you’re Obama, you throw in the words ‘folk’ and ‘invest’ just to hit every buzzword you can.

There will come a point where they WILL come for your money. And oh yes: No government employee under this Cyprus plan will face any cut in benefits or salary. Note that this includes all EU personnel. They waited til the banks were closed prior to a Monday holiday so they’d have three days to implement it free of any of that irritating citizen involvement stuff.

I’d love it for the banks to investigate all large-money withdrawals from Cyrpus deposit accounts (to accounts in other countries’ banks, natch) and look for EU personnel connections to those accounts, and then leak the fricking names of these people who used insider knowledge to protect THEIR money in advance. I would LOVE that.
