Watcher of Weasels — Pearl Harbor Day edition

Okay, I have to admit that I’m always a bit hazy on when Pearl Harbor Day actually falls.  My Mom was in Indonesia on that fateful day, so she was in a very different time zone.  Without looking it up, I’m never certain if it’s December 6, 7, or 8.  Still, I know that the Watcher’s Council vote will fall close enough to the actual day to make this the Pearl Harbor Day edition.  And, as always, don’t forget to read the forum.  This one is about the media’s discovery that there is a “knock-out game” going on.

I remember Pearl Harbor very well. Family gathered at my Grandmother’s house for Sunday dinner; with constsnt radio bulletins everyone knew the future was ominous and grim. An aura of fear and grim foreboding spread over the group, which contained several men of age sure to be involved in the fighting. A day we are doomed to repeat, for we never learn that “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty”.

Well, today December 5th is actually a day for celebration being Repeal of Prohibition Day.  The rollback of that Progressive disaster which sadly did not quell their lust for abusive power.  So, if your of a mind, have a drink today.

Indonesia was attacked on the 8th, although when Pearl Harbor was attacked it was either 11 pm on the 7th or midnight of the 8th in Jakarta, depending on the timezone used in Hawaii in 1941.  I only keep it straight because I had a great uncle killed that day in the Philippines.  And working ships in the Pacific, I became a bit of a time zone geek.
