A Facebook page for the Muslim world

I like a few Israel-specific Facebook pages.  I’m a huge fan of StandWithUs, an organization that’s dedicated to rebutting anti-Israel propaganda, especially on college campuses.  StandWithUs also keeps followers updated on important news stories coming out of Israel, such as Hamas’s recently kidnapping of three teenager boys, Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Frenkel.  As the mother of teenagers, and someone who spends who life surrounded by teenage boys, it tears me apart to think of three such young men in Hamas’s hands.  The New York Times may blame Israel for their kidnapping, but sane people understand that they are victims of the world’s largest death cult (although we can only hope it does not come to that for Eyal, Gilad, and Naftali).

My other favorite is  reThink Israel, which focuses on Israel’s natural beauty, and her scientific and other contributions to the world’s well-being.

On a daily basis, both Facebook pages delight me with images and stories about Israel’s contributions to the world and Israel’s travails at the hands of an enemy that hates America too.  Here are a few examples:

Even if you don’t have a Facebook account, you can check out both of those Facebook pages and get a real feel for what a dynamic, creative, life-giving, and life-affirming place Israel is.

While looking at those two pages, I was trying to imagine the kind of posts that would be on a Muslim-world Facebook page. It wouldn’t have to have spoof posts. Instead, one would troll for real news stories that would have Muslims “boasting” about their contributions to the world:

Tired of the same boring social life? Learn how to throw a kidnapping party, Hamas style!

Dynamic Sunni fighters embrace enthusiastic battle tactics in Iraq conflict.

What has Saudi Arabia done lately? It controls more oil traffic than ever!

Yeah, it’s summer, and I’m struggling a bit. I’ll have more later, but have been dealing with endless domestic stuff. My Mom’s had already called me 11 times by noon, and then I got at least that many phone calls from everyone else.

From Your Post:  The New York Times may blame Israel for their kidnapping, but sane people understand that they are victims of the world’s largest death cult (although we can only hope it does come to that for Eyal, Gilad, and Naftali).  (Emphasis mine)
Not a criticism by any means; just a simple correction, I believe.  I think the author means.  “We can only hope it does NOT come to that.”  Perhaps I have misread.
I am a Christian.  I grew up in the 1970s and saw the movie The Hiding Place.  Based upon a book by the same title, by Corrie ten Boom, the movie portrayed the efforts of Casper ten Boom and his adult spinster daughters Betsy and Corrie, from The Netherlands, to rescue Jews from the Nazis.  These devout Christians felt it their duty to rescue God’s chosen people who, from their point of view and mine, gave Christians their Savior.  This brave family was caught be the Nazis.  Casper died in a hospital; Betsy died in a concentration camp.  Corrie was released as a result of a clerical error — something Corrie deemed nothing short of a miracle.
Anyway this movie and the book had a profound effect on me.  I would like to know of Jewish organizations that rightly defend Jews and Israel.  I would like to support from what means I have.  Do you have any you could recommend?
I am so grateful for a religion like Judaism that affirms the goodness of creation.  God does not make junk.  This world in all its beauty — especially people, who are made in the image and likeness of God — are precious.  It is beyond sad that the Islamofacists don’t see this.  They would act differently if they did.

Thanks for the gentle correction. I had definitely forgotten to put in that all-important “not.”

I highly recommend StandWithUs, because it works in the area of propaganda. I feel that propaganda has been the most effective weapon against Israel in the last 30 years. Countering it is vitally important, and StandWithUs does that. You can donate here.
