Joe Biden’s fiery demand to “Take Back America!”

Biden's facePlease tell me that I’m not the only one who found it hysterically funny that the Vice President of the United States gave what Matt Drudge classified as a “take back America” speech. It’s my impression that “take back America” is the battle cry for those outside of the White House, not those inside of the White House. Yet there Biden was, in Detroit, having jetted over from the most union-friend White House in American government since . . . well, since ever, urging union workers to “take back America.”

As best as I can tell, no one asked Biden the obvious question: “From whom should we take America back? You and Obama’s administration, which have had America for six years now?”

The speech was especially funny given that Detroit, Michigan, a city that’s been under Democrat leadership since 1962, is in dire economic distress. Even as some businesses see downtown property as a fire sale bargain, the fact remains that the city is so broke it’s been cutting off water service to those who cannot, or will not, pay for it. That’s what happens to a city controlled by Democrats and unions — just as the Obama administration is making sure that the same thing happens to a once proud nation controlled by Democrats and unions.

So I’ll ask again — against which power structure should the beleaguered American middle and working class be fighting in order to take back their country?
