Obama: Empty chair or “true clinical, pathological narcissist” — or both?

Clint Eastwood talks to Empty ChairPractically from Day 1 of Obama’s presidency, I’ve been calling him a pathological, or clinical, or malignant narcissist.

There’s no there there, I said.  This is an empty man whose only goal is self-aggrandizement to fill the black hole that exists where a healthy person would have a functioning ego.

There’s a compulsive liar there, I said, one who will always say whatever he needs to say to protect himself from being forced to look into that psychic black hole at any given moment.

There’s a vicious person there, I pointed out, when who will denigrate anyone and everyone, and jettison all his friends, so long as he can continue to assure himself that he’s better than everyone else — since he knows deep inside that the reality is an empty psychic space where a healthy ego would normally be found.

There’s a master manipulator there, I noted, a person who, lacking normal emotional responses, is nevertheless adept at analyzing and manipulating other people’s emotions for his own benefit.

There is a dangerous, empty, vicious man there, I said.

Clint Eastwood said it too, when he addressed an empty chair at the RNC.  His used a visual to bring life to the notion that there’s no there there.  Obama is indeed a black hole, an empty suit, a little man, a narcissist.  In an office environment, he would be the boss everyone hates and the colleague everyone learns to distrust.  But as the head of a nation, he’s very, very dangerous.

Bill Whittle gets it too, as he spells out Obama’s emptiness in one of his more masterful videos:

Having just read Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals (it can be gotten for free on the Internet. Don’t pay for the trash);. I would have to say Obama is the kind of no talent narcissist who would become a professional community organizer. What most people seem to miss about Rules for Rads is that it is not really a manual. It is a prospectus. Alinsky was dramatizing how he could move up in the world and control the middle class as well as the lowest elements of society. Organizers exist just to get money into their organizations. Nothing else. Is Obama a narcissist? Yes. Is Obama an empty suit. Yes but that is by design. The emptier the suit the more it can be stuffed with cash.

How ironic that Whittle is able to so astutely show what Mark Steyn meant about a world without America.

The horror here is that there is no man or woman with any power or prestige in the United States right now that will stand up to this miserable little punk. Nobody.

    For want of a nail. . . .

You always did say he was a narcissist.

And the best biological metaphor is virus.- a non living thing, useless, completely nonfunctional EXCEPT to hijack the productive mechanisms of other life forms, and pervert them to its own use.

Ever since Clint Eastwood’s excellent “empty chair” performance, I get a laugh out of the MSM’s live feed of an empty podium when Obama is late for a scheduled media statement/press conference. Obama is late every darn time, so his podium gets a lot more press time than he does.

I suspect what we are seeing is the “empty chair” action of a clinical narcissist who must eat his rage lest he go the way of Lonesome Rhodes with public meltdown.

A bit off Obama but not off the Left is this bit of prophetic analysis from 2006 (http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0714/p20s01-ussc.html)

reud called it displacement. People fixate on the environment when they can’t deal with real threats. Combating the climate gives nonhawks a chance to look tough. They can flex their muscle for Mother Nature, take a preemptive strike at an SUV. Forget the Patriot Act, it’s Kyoto that’ll save you.

That’s why in 2004 we got “The Day After Tomorrow” – so we could worry about junk science that may or may not kill us in 1,000 years instead of the people who really are trying to kill us the day after tomorrow.

My issue with people’s reaction to Hussein wasn’t really about Hussein. It was how it distracted people from the real threat, the Leftist alliance. If they wanted a person, with a face, to hate, that’s one thing. But that’s not going to lead to good times if the ignore the power behind the throne.

So Hussein O’s a sociopath. What else is new? The Left has thousands of them in leadership positions ready to Get In Your Face. Americans started thinking the problem with America was one President. That was never the case.

As for displacement, what they didn’t understand back then was that the Left is a religion, not a political or economic set of ideas or ideologies. A religion needs an apocalyptic scenario to deal with guilt in its believers and in managing policy for tomorrow. It also helps them deal with non believers and obtain converts.

People make a lot of fun concerning CHristian fundamentalists and apocalypses. But the human condition proved truer after all, when the same people bought into Global Warming. They needed something to believe in, to deal with the guilt and angst. Otherwise human instincts tell us to fight our enemies and competition. The Left, having extracted their spine and who pretend not to fight, needed an excuse to go off on their Republican neighbors. AN Apocalypse is as good as any.

Ymarsakar, I like your comparison of Leftists’ focus on global warming (or climate change or whatever term is in vogue today) to religious fundamentalists’ focus on end times. There are so many similarities.

“The Late Great Planet Earth” by Hal Lindsey was a hit among Christian fundamentalists back in the day (1970s). I was a child then. I did not read the book, but I did see the movie. There has been an entire religious industry trying to name times and dates when Jesus will return to destroy the earth, etc.

These days, it is the Leftists who preach this sort of thing. Except it isn’t Jesus’ coming back. It is anything you or I do that Leftists don’t like and want to tax.

Just for the record: I do believe in Jesus’ second coming. It is in the Nicene Creed. But for me it is not to destroy the earth. Rather it is to redeem it. I do believe, to borrow biblical language, that the lion will lie down with the lamb and that a baby will handle an adder with no harm. That imagery describes metaphorically — not literally — what will happen when God judges the earth once and for all. There’ll be no more death. And the righteous of all nations will inherit the earth.

Jehovah Witnesses believe that God’s Kingdom, where Divine Rule will replace Human Corruption, will come at the End Times when the Chosen people, the believers, will be redeemed and accepted from Death through Life.

Thus instead of trying to change the world, the Witnesses preach, do missionary work, and attempt to improve the strength of their own core family and faith based beliefs.

The Left and the Islamic Jihad, however, uses guilt a different way. Because humanity is guilty, certain things must be done, and that isn’t to improve yourself but to tear down your neighbor until he Obeys Authority. Only in Obeying the AUthority of the Left’s Green Church Dogma, can people be saved. And unless EVERYONE obeys that Authority, the planet goes to hell. SO Islamic Jihad blames Westerners for making their women into whores and blame their women’s sexuality for being source of evil.

These kinds of things have predictable results, in that it fundamentally demands that the Believers attempt to change the world by conquering it and making the non believers into slaves. It’s just dogmatically the end result, because all other paths lead to Damnation and Destruction. Saving the planet where everyone is on it… requires a few broken eggs right? And by broken eggs, the Left thinks in terms of partial birth abortion and the Islamos think in terms of slamming Israeli infant heads across the stones. They LOVE that kind of stuff. They love it. It’s Atonement for their sins.

Qr4j says These days, it is the Leftists who preach this sort of thing. Except it isn’t Jesus’ coming back. It is anything you or I do that Leftists don’t like and want to tax.”.

I, too, appreciate Ymarsaker’s comparison. As G.K. Chesterton is reputed to have said, ‘When we stop believing in God, we do not then believe in nothing, we believe in anything.’

In this case, just as in the Old Testament, the DemProg Left created a false god, Gaia, to venerate as they, today, wander lost in their dead, desolate and self-created intellectual Sinai.

Their worship of the rapist Clinton for being the first black President and their worship of his wife, Roddham, who was helping slam the book against rape victims in court, was early proof of where Democrats and their Leftist alliance were going. A lot of people weren’t paying attention to the WACOs and Ruby Ridges though.

Then Hussein O’s messiah complex came through and that was a big Hint. Then after awhile, even Republicans started “getting it”.
