AP Sterilizing News Of A Brutal Crime (Updated)

Fake news is the big thing now.  But can a news report omit so many details and be so sterilized as to constitute fake news?  Let’s take a look at two stories dealing with what occurred in the video below, a short excerpt pulled from a longer, 30 minute Facebook live stream of a brutal assault by four blacks on an autistic white man whom they had restrained and gagged with duck tape.

Here is the AP in their “Big Story” section reporting on the incident.

Chicago Police Investigate Video Beating

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago police said Wednesday that they’re investigating a video circulating on social media that shows several people beating a man at a residence.

Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said at a news conference that four suspects, two males and two females, are in custody. Formal charges have not been filed.

The victim, who has “mental health challenges,” is recovering, Johnson said.

He also called the video “sickening,” and Police Cmdr. Kevin Duffin said the suspects made “stupid decisions.”

While police officials did not confirm the races of the suspects or victim, video from Chicago media outlets appeared to show someone off-camera using profanities about “white people” and President-elect Donald Trump.

But police said it’s too soon to determine whether the attack was racially motivated.

Investigators will “determine whether or not this is sincere or just stupid ranting and raving,” Duffin said when asked about the language used in the recording.

The video also shows bottles of alcohol in the room during the attack.

Officers were called to a residence on the city’s West Side Tuesday evening where they found signs of a struggle and damaged property.

Police said that around the same time, officers on patrol encountered the victim on a nearby street.

Duffin said the victim knew one of the suspects.

Video of the alleged incident was initially posted on Facebook, but was later removed from the social media site.

A Facebook spokesman told The Associated Press the company removed the video because it does “not allow people to celebrate or glorify crimes on Facebook.”

4 in custody after mentally disabled man tied up, tortured on Facebook Live

Chicago investigators are questioning four African-Americans after a Facebook Live video shows a group of people torturing a white mentally disabled man while someone yelled “F*** Trump!” and “F*** white people!”

Chicago police were made aware of the video Tuesday afternoon. A young African American woman streamed the video live on Facebook showing at least four people holding the young white man hostage.

“The video is reprehensible,” said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

“It’s sickening. You know it makes you wonder what would make individuals treat somebody like that,” Police Supt. Eddie Johnson added.

Throughout the video, the victim is repeatedly kicked and hit, his scalp is cut, all while he is tied up with his mouth taped shut.

At one point, the victim is held at knife point and told to curse President-elect Donald Trump. The group also forces the victim to drink water from a toilet.

The suspects can be heard saying they want the video to go viral.

Detectives think the victim, who lives in the suburbs and appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s, met some acquaintances in northwest suburban Streamwood and they drove him to Chicago in a stolen vehicle, Guglielmi said.

The victim is then believed to have been held hostage and tortured in an apartment in the 3400 block of West Lexington on the West Side, Guglielmi said.

On Tuesday afternoon, police officers spotted the victim walking on a street on the West Side wearing shorts, Guglielmi said. Because it was unusual to see a man in shorts in the cold weather, the officers stopped to talk to the man, who appeared disoriented, and he was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Toxicology tests were performed at the hospital to determine if the victim was under the influence of anything.

Police said the victim was a classmate of one of the suspects. He was held hostage for at least 24 hours and as long as 48 hours.

“It’s quite a possibility that this is a kidnapping and that’s certainly one of the charges we’ll be seeking if it turns out to be that. But, he’s traumatized by the incident and it’s tough to communicate with him at this point,” said Chicago Police Commander Kevin Duffin.

Community activist Andrew Holmes was made aware of the disturbing video, which he is calling a “hate crime.”

Although President-elect Donald Trump was mentioned, Chicago Police do not believe the crime was politically motivated.

“I think some of it is just stupidity, people just ranting about something that they think might make a headline. I don’t think that at this point we have anything concrete to really point us in that direction, but we’ll keep investigating and we’ll let the facts guide us on how this concludes,” Supt. Johnson said.

Charges are expected to be filed in the next 24 hours.

Now note the things that the AP chose not to report:

  1.  The race of the perpetrators, though it was readily apparent from the Facebook feed.
  2.  The fact that this torture and beating took place over a 24 to 48 hour period.
  3.  The nature of the torture and beating.
  4. Despite the most damning  and incontrovertible physical evidence, the AP refers to this as an “alleged incident.”

It is not possible to solve a problem if you are unaware of it.  One of the big problems in society is the criminality of the black underclass and the degree to which they are fed on grievance theater.  The AP is doing their level best to sweep those problems under the rug with reporting of this nature.

In case I haven’t convinced you of how problematic and misleading the AP’s reporting is, by all means, feel free to compare their reporting on this “alleged incident” with their report on the burning of the Hopewell Baptist Church.  As they speculate by including in their article:  ““If there is something like the Ku Klux Klan or the Aryan Nation … we look at that as domestic terrorism,” Thompson said.”
