[VIDEO] Ashley Judd inadvertently indicts the Obama presidency

Ashley Judd's poemI’d read about Ashley Judd having recited to the vulgar women assembled before her in a poem that Nina Donovan, a 19-year-old from Tennessee had written. I’d also read that the poem was exceedingly vulgar and went low, very low, in its attacks on Donald Trump, even to the point of suggesting incest. What I hadn’t done until today was listen to Judd’s recitation. It was eye-opening and that’s not just because Ashley Judd is over-the-top awful in her dramatic performance.

What struck me so forcibly was that, aside from the pro forma insults to Trump, we were listening to a 19-year-old girl describe the only world she’s really ever known — the world of the Obama presidency. After all, he took office when she was only ten or eleven. This is Obama’s world:

Blacks are still in shackles and graves, just for being black.
Slavery has been reinterpreted as the prison system in front of people who see melanin as animal skin.

I’m nasty like the fight for wage equality.
Scarlett Johansson, why were the female actors paid less than half of what the male actors earned last year?
See, even when we do go into higher paying jobs our wages are still cut with blades sharpened by testosterone.
Why is the work of a black woman and a Hispanic woman worth only 63 and 54 cents of a white man’s privileged daughter?
This is not a feminist myth.
This is inequality.
So we are not here to be debunked.
We are here to be respected.
We are here to be nasty.

It may sound petty bringing up a few extra cents.
It adds up to the pile of change I have yet to see in my country.
I can’t see.
My eyes are too busy praying to my feet hoping you don’t mistake eye contact for wanting physical contact.
Half my life I have been zipping up my smile hoping you don’t think I want to unzip your jeans.

That’s Obama’s America, folks, at least as seen from the Left: After eight years of Obama, it’s a place drowning in racism and sexual inequality. Shame on him! That Ashley Judd isn’t the brightest bulb on the block is evidence by her failing to realize that she was castigating Obama, who left his imprimatur on America, not Trump, who had taken office only 24 hours before her screed.

Let’s see what good old economic growth can do for a change, shall we? After all, as Milton Friedman has compellingly argued, the best antidote to racism and sexism is the free market. In the free market, wealth isn’t black or white, it’s good old green. People who want to increase their wealth don’t discriminate amongst their customers. (And no, I haven’t forgotten about my crusade against the Breitbart boycott. It’s just that the list of boycotting businesses — that is, businesses boycotting you, the American people, in true Jim Crow style because you had the temerity to vote for the Republican candidate — has doubled in my absence and it will take me some time to process it.)

If you have the intestinal fortitude, you can see for yourself what I mean. And because I like you, I’ve leavened slightly the awfulness of poetry and performance by allowing you to view Ashley Judd along with Captain Kirk and his crew. Beware, though, that this poem’s obscene, vulgar imagery is not safe for either work or children:
