[UPDATE: I should clarify here that, while Fish regularly writes opinion pieces for the Times, and while his beliefs and the Times’ beliefs harmonize more often than not, Fish is not a salaried employee of the Times. I’ve changed the title of this post to add the phrase “guest columnist”
