I’ve got some great posters for your viewing pleasure, covering everything from politics to culture to national security . . . and more!!
Yes, the Electoral College has spoken on the election, but the Progressives’ weeping, wailing, beating of breasts, and rending of garments continues unabated. That’s why you’ll find these articles pertinent, interesting, amusing and, sometimes, frightening.
Don’t attack people from whom you want something. Hillary wanted votes from Americans but she couldn’t help herself. Speaking to a sympathetic audience, she had to attack vast swaths of America’s citizens as a “basket of deplorables,” guilty of a variety of moral sins. She may have graduated from Yale Law but she apparently never learned there the first rule of making your case to a jury: “Don’t attack people from whom you want something.”
Hillary’s most ardent followers haven’t learned that lesson either. They’re so busy pointing at Comey (never mind that he got on the case because Hillary broke the law), Russians (never mind that the DNC and Podesta practically gave their information away), and anyone or anything else that attracts their angry, short attention span, that they’re missing the main lesson: You don’t win by hating voters.
Over at the San Francisco Chronicle, columnist Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez looked at the numbers after the election and decided that an entire section of the City is irredeemable — and darn if he isn’t calling them out on it:
If Russian hacking really caused the DNC emails to go public (something that Wikileaks denies), the following video explains in 44 seconds precisely what happened:
The cast of characters? The huffing, puffing, threatening, lying Wizard of Oz is, of course, Hillary and the Democrat party. Toto is the Russians. The American people are Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and the Tin Woodman.
As someone said, the Democrats are furious that someone (the Russians?) exposed the truth about them, in their own words, to the American people. “How dare you reveal us to be cruel, manipulative, dishonest, and generally unfit to government the American people?”
Before I get to the allegations, let me start with the possible ways in which Russia could have interfered with the election:
1. It could have handed money over to anti-Hillary groups to help power their opposition to her campaign. This is what Obama did, when he handed taxpayer money over to a variety of groups in Israel that worked hard to destroy Netanyahu’s candidacy. He also interfered with Britain’s election when he made trade threats regarding Brexit. Progressives are okay with interfering with another nation’s election, provided that Obama does it. [UPDATE: A friend reminded me that Obama probably took in massive amounts in foreign donations in 2008 and 2012 because he turned off credit card safeguards.]
2. It could have hacked into computer voting machines, although it would have had to deal with the fact that each state has its own system, ranging from paper votes, to scanning machines, to fully computerized voting machines.
3. It could have spread misinformation — that is, it could have spread absolute lies.
These lies might have included stories about the fact that Hillary’s husband frequently hung out with a convicted pedophile and flew on the pedophile’s private jet to the pedophile’s private island abounding with young, very young, women. Oh, wait. Never mind. That really happened.
Russia could have said that Hillary is so abusive that she’s completely loathed by those people whose job required them to lay down their lives for her. Ah! That’s not a lie either.
Wait! I got it. Russia could have spread a lie intended to humiliate Hillary by saying that she bravely landed under sniper fire in Bosnia, only to have the truth emerge that she was greeted at the tarmac by a little girl with flowers. Sorry, sorry! The story about the sniper fire in Bosnia is indeed a lie, but Hillary spread it about herself.
My point is why would the Russians lie when the Democrat party and its candidate already have that task under control?
4. It could have requested that DNC staffers send it their passwords and, armed with that information, hacked into the DNC email server and published the Democrats’ own emails, without any amendments, spoliation, fake inserts, or other manipulation of data. In other words, it could have humiliated Democrats by exposing them for the weird, hate-filled, incompetent, racist, people they are, people who unblinkingly destroyed the people’s favored candidate (Bernie) in order to elevate a woman they agreed was incompetent and not too bright, as well as not very likely to win on the merits.
With those four types of hacking in mind, the question for you, before we get into actual facts, is which type of “hacking” should get people’s hackles up? I would say that Types 1, 2, and 3 are problematic.
The Progressive meltdown over Trump’s Electoral College victory continues unabated and has gone from the merely undemocratic practice of street violence and personal abuse to the seriously, dangerously undemocratic practice of seeking to undermine the legitimacy of an election. To the Progressive defense that conservatives were just as bad in 2008 or 2012 . . . well, as always, the Progressives are wrong.
Conservatives never took to the streets and abandoned themselves to mob violence. That is a strictly Leftist activity. There’s a straight line from shakedown artist Al Sharpton’s Tawana Brawley circus to the dangerous freeway obstructions that the Left currently loves to so much. These are not about freedom of expression; they are a form of blackmail directed at a functioning society.
Conversely, Tea Party rallies, which were directed at Obama’s policies, not his legitimacy, were cheery affairs, after which the attendees cleaned up their litter. This was true political expression, not mob violence.
Even worse than mob violence, though, is the Progressive attack on democracy itself. What Progressives are doing is drastically more dangerous than the fact that a significant subsection of conservatives were convinced that Obama, who baited them by hiding his birth certificate, failed to meet the constitutional requirement that he be a native-born American.
(Incidentally, my feeling has long been that he was indeed born in Hawaii. What I think he’s hiding is in the transcripts, which will probably show that he falsely claimed Kenyan or Indonesian birth to get admitted into college and to obtain financial aid. And of course, they’ll show that “the smartest president ever” was a really bad student. This is just a theory, though, and I freely admit that I have no evidence to support it.)
Yes, many conservatives did attack Obama vigorously in an effort to roust him from office and, as the Progressives love to note, Trump was part of that “birth certificate” constituency. The important thing to remember, though, is that this conduct was directed against Obama. The goal was to prove that Obama was unqualified ab initio and had no right to be in the White House.
Progressives are doing something much more extreme than attacking a candidate (although their frenzied effort to equate him to Hitler is dire and dangerous): They are challenging the entire republican democratic process that underlies America’s smooth and safe transition of power every four to hate years. While their hatred is directed at Trump, they’re attacking the heart of the country itself. Moreover, they’re escalating.
It turns out that on Thanksgiving 2016 we have a lot for things for which to give thanks. Since I headed off on vacation the day after the election, some of these 45 insightful, funny posters may be a bit dated, but all are too good to ignore (especially the first, which is me, in my Blue community).
I’m back from my cruise, but not yet home, so this will be a smaller than usual round-up culling some of the best posts I’ve seen since recently about life in Trump’s America. Typing on a teeny keyboard slows me down….
The temperature in the Left’s fever swamps is rising.. I don’t need to repeat here the puerile behavior to which Mike Pence was subjected when he went to see Hamilton, nor do I need to repeat Pence’s classy response. You already know that.
What you might not know is that Pence’s appearance at the show was all part of a deep Trump plot to humiliate the Progressive Left by creating a situation in which the “others” in this new bigoted, racist, misogynistic, transphobic, and homophobic America would be forced to engage in behavior distasteful to the aforementioned bigots, racists, misogynists, etc.
Yup. No fooling. That dastardly Trump outwitted America’s most elite brains. I know this because I read it at the GQ website (and didn’t that used to be a snobby men’s fashion magazine?). Why else would a man that the Left believes is on the verge of euthanizing gays to end their evil ways even bother to attend a Broadway show?
Wow! Wow! No, really — wow!
Can’t blog now, but I’m thrilled. I never thought I’d be thrilled that Donald Trump is our newly elected president, but I am. Keeping the Uber-corrupt elitist Hillary out of the White House is an astonishing victory.
[Scroll down for a new batch of excellent posters.]
Honestly, I can’t handle the stress as we go into the last twenty-four hours of this election cycle. For the first time in . . . well, ever, I’m deliberately ignoring the news. I haven’t opened a single blog today, and I’m ignoring Facebook too. BUT, when my friends send me good stuff, that I have to share with you. So, this is going to be the only thing I post today, and I’m just going to update it continuously to add new good stuff.
The pitfalls of dating Lefties. The only thing that’s not believable about this video is that the gal is so clean and pretty looking. Lefty gals just aren’t as well-put-together as women on the Right. Otherwise, it’s all good — but beware, it’s NSFW because it has some strong language:
That Lefty ought to have been dating someone like this. . . . William & Mary College was the second college chartered in the American colonies, all the way back in 1693. It is a beautiful campus with an illustrious history. Some of its more famous graduates are Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, and John Tyler, as well as an endless list of people who, for three centuries, have served in government. It has some shame, too, given that Jon Stewart attended William & Mary. I wonder what all those graduates, including even Jon Stewart, would think of this event announcement, which I’m printing here in its entirety:
Feel the Thunder of Our Choices: A Call for Male-Identified Individuals to Respect Bodily Integrity
Monday, November 7th 2016
7pm – 8:15pm
Williamsburg, VA 23185
As an extension of the National Red Flag Campaign, male-identified members of the William & Mary community are invited to this brave space for a crucial and intersectional conversation about respecting bodily integrity and ending gender-based violence.
We know survivors; we also know that some of us are survivors.
We know perpetrators; we also know that male-identified persons are more likely to disrespect the bodily integrity of all sexes and genders in ways that are as unethical as they are criminal.
We know that we are better than this, and deep down inside we know that the solution to end those acts of violence lies not in teaching one sex or gender to defend itself from all the others, but rather in creating a culture where rapists cease raping and potential rapists never start.
If we weren’t aware of that fact, the time has come to make ourselves aware.
The time is now.
If you identify yourself as a male within the William & Mary community, please join us for this important dialogue and its charge to act with beauty and courage.
Let us assume our blame; let us grow in a common hope; and let us help each other build our capacity to choose wisely, so that this world becomes a happier, healthier, safer space for all its inhabitants.
About our facilitator, Eric Garrison, MAEd ’94, MSc (London), DLSHTM, CSC, ACS:
Garrison currently serves as one of our Assistant Directors of Health Promotion and the Chair of the Virginia Campus Task Force. An international consultant and speaker in clinical and forensic sexology (“Our highest praises,” Oxford University), a best selling author, our first instructor of Masculinity Studies here at the College, and a former sexuality counselor with the Masters & Johnson Institute, Garrison will channel his inner Paolo Freire to guide us from a place of awareness to one of action.
I’m no fan of rape, and think it’s quite a good idea to tell men (and people who identify as men?) that it’s morally and criminally wrong to rape or otherwise sexually assault women. I find, however, that I cannot in good conscience support something that turns men (and people who identify as men) into lunatic pantywaists. And yes, “pantywaist” is an old and manifestly un-PC term of opprobrium for men lacking the obvious manly virtues, but I find it fits here.
Can’t anyone figure out a smart way to fight zombies? The problem with being a specialist in your field is that it’s very frustrating to watch other people mess things up. Fortunately, when Marine Michael Burke watches the surviving humans in The Walking Dead do incredibly stupid things with security decisions and weapons, he can console himself with the fact that it’s not real, and that he’s not responsible for leading any of those dummies into battle or relying upon them for his own safety.
It’s just too easy to game Lefties. As someone who loves McDonald’s chicken tenders and french fries, I really appreciated this video. The only thing I would have been a little bit worried about was stumbling across some student deathly allergic to preservatives or something. Otherwise, though, a good point, well made.
I’m going to try here to throw in as many good links as I can to help you to prepare for the upcoming election — and to understand the bizarre cultural Marxism that underlies so much of the battle in America today, as well as dislocations in the Middle East which are driving many pathologies throughout the Western world. Here goes:
No matter how bad Trump is, Hillary’s worse. One of the most infuriating things (at least for me) about this election is the grotesque hypocrisy on the Left. (Yeah, I know — what else is new?) This time, the hypocrisy takes the form of blackening Trump’s reputation in the most obscene way, while pretending that Hillary is a woman without stain. At least conservatives honestly acknowledge Trump’s personal weaknesses, only to focus on the strengths he brings to his candidacy. Meanwhile, on the Left, a substance-free St. Hillary is running against Satan incarnate. Thankfully, Ann Coulter has, with her usual élan, totally destroyed the Left’s line of argument. If you’re wavering, read it.
Hubris and ugliness. In fact, Lefty lies to the contrary, Hillary is deeply flawed. She lacks the humanity that would make an interesting epic character but, boy, does she have the hubris and arrogance that’s brought many people down. Couple that with Weiner’s compulsions and Comey’s cowardice and you have an election that, on the Democrat side of the aisle, reads like a badly written Green tragedy.
Will chaos theory still control the election? With Hillary being buffeted by Wiki- and Weiner-leaks, is she the chaos candidate in this election? And in that regard, I don’t think Comey’s reiterated decision not to recommend her for prosecution matters. Once he created an entirely fictional “lack of intent” standard and read it into the controlling statutes, unless there was an email standing, “I, Hillary Clinton, intend to violate national security laws because I’m stupid, for my convenience, and to hide the flow of illegal cash into my false charity and my very real deep pockets,” there was no way Comey could ever find anything that would justify referring her to the DOJ. That’s why he was able to get his team to “review” 650,000 emails in just a few days. But back to chaos theory. Neo-Neocon thinks that as Trump begins to look like the more stable candidate, the crown that Hillary managed to wear for much of the campaign season, he seems like the safer bet.
If you think Hillary’s bad, wait until you see Tim Kaine. I assume that, if Hillary wins, she won’t be in office long, as she’ll either die from whatever disease is bedeviling her or she’ll be arrested or impeached. Her departure from the White House won’t make things better. If you think Hillary’s an antisemitic Leftist, you ain’t seen nothing yet: Tim Kaine is much worse.
Linda Tripp — Hillary is worse than you imagine. Almost two decades after the Blue Dress, most people tend to think of Linda Tripp solely in the context of being Monica Lewinsky’s confidante. In fact, she pretty much sat right outside Hillary’s office, and had a front row seat to the true horrors of Hillary’s personal style and her politics. Given that Hillary’s corruption and pathologies have gotten worse in the intervening decades, we have to assume that everything she is and does will be exponentially worse.
The end of the rule of law. One of the reasons I think Hillary cannot win is because putting her in the White House sets the seal to the end of the Rule of Law in America. Since the Magna Carta, the Anglosphere has operated on the principle that no one is above the law, not even the King (or President). If Hillary gets the White House, we’ve abandoned that ancient, liberty-based principle and, in effect, created an American emperor. And if you’re wondering just how different the standards are for Hillary versus everyone else, just look at this nice graphic comparing her to General Petraeus.
This purports to be an AP story, yet I don’t see it gaining traction. If true, though, that the Amish are handing Pennsylvania to Trump, it’s a “yuge” story:
History was made today in Columbus, Ohio when more than 3 million Amish poured into the city to see the American Amish Brotherhood (AAB), an organization which acts as an informal governing body for the Amish community, endorse Donald Trump for president. That number represents a significant portion of the total Amish population, which the United States Census Bureau says numbers more than 20 million men and women nationwide all pledging their vote to Trump for President. With the full force of the Amish community behind him, Donald Trump is now mathematically guaranteed to win the presidency in November.
Is this a hoax? Is it not really AP? Is no one noticing? What’s the story about this story?
UPDATE: It’s a hoax — darn!
