#AOC-ward (pronounced “awkward”), aka Donkey Chompers, aka Occasional-Cortex, is considered by many to be the voice of her generation. Some voice.
It’s only the Ides of March, not April Fools’ Day, but this jumbo illustrated edition, with all the Leftist craziness, shows Americans played for fools.
Is a video arguing that Ocasio-Cortez isn’t a real politician but is instead an actress being used by hard-Left conspirators real or a conspiracy theory?
A conservative Facebook group to which I belong, one with several hundred members, has seen at least four people post a video in which a man calling himself Mr. Reagan, who has a fruity, game-show host voice, advances the theory that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (aka #AOC-ward, pronounced “awkward”) is not a ditzy Leftist millennial politician at all but is, instead, an actress. According to Mr. Reagan, Donkey Chompers is the pretty face for a radical Leftist group that wants to remake the entire Democrat party by defeating establishment Democrats using people just like #AOC-ward: telegenic and able to recite their lines.
Because people whose intelligence I have come to respect through years of following this Facebook group thought the video was important, I took the time to watch it. And you know what? I can’t decide whether it’s a brilliant insight into what’s going on in American politics or if it’s the sane-sounding ravings of a delusional man. Some of what Mr. Reagan advances makes absolute sense in a scary way; some of what he describes sounds more like the organic coming-together of like-minded people rather than a vast conspiracy; and some of it sounds as if it came out of a Hollywood scriptwriter’s conference.
The one thing the video does, which is true for both real conspiracies and conspiracy theories, is to make sense of several ongoing mysteries: (1) How a bartender could swiftly rise out of nowhere and defeat an incumbent who was bringing home the bacon for his community; (2) why #AOC-ward is undeniably one of the most telegenic politicians around; and (3) most of all, why #AOC-ward is an idiot when speaking impromptu but an effective political dynamo both on Twitter and when speaking in controlled situations. An illustrated edition focusing on the Dems’ weirdly ecumenical transition from anti-Black (slavery, Jim Crow, ghettoization) to untrammeled anti-Semitism.
(Plus other examples of the myriad threats socialists pose to America, and the way Trump is a bulwark against those threats.)
Before getting to the posters, a short video I urge you all to watch:

I always worry I won’t find Stupid Leftists posters, but every week, whether it’s abortion, borders, race, gender, guns, etc. they keep outdoing themselves.
Smollett and Bernie take the lead in this illustrated edition, but AOC-ward, Trump, Hillary, stupid Leftists, and more show up as well.
1. The woman is a dim bulb, defined by ignorance and inanity.
2. Her low wattage does not make her any less dangerous.
3. She is dangerous because she is a master of the modern medium.
4. She is the living embodiment of Marshall McLuhan’s statement that “the medium is the message.” That she lacks substance, knowledge, wit, logical ability, or any other qualities that matter for governance, is irrelevant; she can communicate in 21st century fashion and that is sufficient to elevate her.
5. If we only ridicule her, we actually enhance her “medium as message” status.
6. We should treat her utterances seriously and, even as we expose each fallacy, nevertheless maintain a respectful tone. (You’ll notice that I’ve long since stopped doing “dumb Ocasio-Cortez” posters in my illustrated editions.) Remember, that she is a dim bulb is irrelevant. She’s a shiny, pretty, bubbly socialist who knows that communication, rather than substance, is currently the only thing that matters.
7. Do not call her “AOC.” It’s easy to type, but it elevates her to “Barbra,” “Bono,” “Cher” or “Hillary” status.” Given her mastery of the medium, Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t need our help. [Read more…]
The debate about the border wall provides an excellent way to contrast two incoming freshman congress critters: Dan Crenshaw and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
I’m with those conservatives who believe that we need to take Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seriously. It’s true that, thanks to her years at an American college, she went from a happy, laughing, dancing middle class girl to an angry Leftist harridan. And it’s true that her ideology is the same one that was responsible for over 100 million deaths in the 20th century, not to mention the fear and unhappiness that plagued easily another billion people in the same time. And it’s also true that her grasp of facts is, to say the least, weak if not out-and-out dishonest.
All the above is true, but what’s also true is that Ocasio-Cortez is excellent at social media, she’s pretty (if you like crazy-eyed angry women who hide behind kittenish cuteness), and the media adores her . . . just as they adored Barack Obama. The media has been a kingmaker before, and it plans simultaneously to protect Ocasio-Cortez from her idiocies while promoting her mediagenic charisma.
Ocasio-Cortez isn’t ready to be President any time soon (for no other reason than that she’s too young), but she can be a power broker. After all, we’ve learned never to underestimate a young, photogenic, telegenic Leftist media darling. As it is, it will take decades before America – indeed, the world — recovers from Obama’s ideologically-driven presidency.
Despite the small pocket of voters that elected her to Congress, Ocasio-Cortez is still a presence. With that in mind, please consider what she has to say about a wall securing our southern border – a wall, not to entrap people in the way of the Berlin Wall, but a wall intended to created an orderly way for genuine asylum seekers to present themselves at the US border, and a wall, moreover, that will protect Americans from people who break into our country, steal low-paying jobs almost solely for the benefit of rich white people, and who periodically commit violent crimes, the but-for cause of which is their unauthorized entry into the US: [Read more…]
The Schumer and Pelosi meme is alive and well at the Bookworm Room, along with lots of immigration posters and other cool and interesting political posters.
On the border wall, a surprisingly uncharismatic Trump showed he loved America and Americans, while Democrats succeeded only in showing they despise Trump.
Having had some time to think about Trump’s address, as well as the official and unofficial rebuttals, I have a few thoughts, none particularly deep or meaningful. I therefore offer them for what they’re worth:
Trump spoke about the American people. He made it plain that he is working to benefit them, especially those in the front lines of dealing with the harm wrought by people who ought never to have been here in the first place.
Pelosi and Schumer spoke about Trump. Their hatred was manifest and should cause people to wonder whether their working for the good of Americans or simply to import voters, along with attendant drugs and violence.
Ocasio-Cortez spoke about garble-gooble fizwitz aliens blumpf Americans karpoffez deelywhop clum Marx shcniszzsle open borders. It continues to behoove us to take her seriously and to make sure that Americans understand that she represents the up-and-coming generation of young Democrats.
Trump did not say a single word about race. Nevertheless, he was instantly attacked for being racist. There is nothing racist about insisting that people who enter the country do so after knocking on the front door and asking for permission, rather than by leaping over the back fence, breaking through the kitchen window and, in some cases, poisoning the food, raping the women and children, and killing a family member or two. This is about behavior, not race.
CBS was so busy “fact checking” Trump that it inadvertently and absolutely proved that he understated the horrific attacks on Latin American women inveigled into making the march to the American border. CBS then did the only thing a modern mainstream media outlet could do, which was to delete its inadvertently pro-Trump, anti-illegal immigration fact-check. [Read more…]
I called this the “Trump wall illustrated edition” but it’s also about Stupid Leftists, the Second Amendment, Gender Madness, and Silly Stuff in our world.
Even as Paris burns, America’s media and other Democrat establishments demand that America institute the socialist policies that are destroying Europe.
Paris burns — and the people call for Trump. The mainstream media truly believes in global leadership. Trump’s desire to be America’s, rather than following in his predecessor’s footsteps as a Left wing world leader, is seen as Exhibit A in indictment alleging that Trump is evil, racist, Hitler-esque, etc.
Those national leaders that the media exalts are the ones who put the world ahead of their nations. They demand a world without borders, no matter the profound damage roving immigrants from nightmare countries inflict on their own citizens. In this regard, it’s important to understand that most of these countries did not become nightmares because an evil strong man, along the lines of Hitler, Maduro, or Erdogan is destroying the civilized people in his nation. Instead, these are nightmare nations because of national values that the roving immigrants, like locusts, bring with them to their new locations.
The exalted global leaders are also the ones who have bought completely into the whole Climate Change mantra. This holds that mankind in the last few years has become more powerful than the earth, the sun, and the whole universe combined. Certainly, humans have shown that they have the power to alter and damage their local environment. There is no reliable evidence, though, that they can change the earth’s climate.
As I’ve taken to arguing, if humans really are warming the planet, we should be incredibly grateful. Because I’m not a Leftist, my knowledge of history goes back millennia, rather than years or (sometimes) merely weeks or even days. That’s why I know that humans thrive when the earth warms and they die when it cools. When it warms, there’s more arable land and more rain, which equals more food. If CO2 is increasing, that’s great too, because the food we eat needs it.
However, when the earth cools, whether because of (probably sun-controlled) climate change or because of dirty volcanoes that block out the sun, people die. Keep that last point in mind when you hear from those “scientists” who want to block the sun’s rays: [Read more…]
Everything Progressives do is part of a de-civilizing process that will plunge us back into the cruelty and murder that make up humankind’s natural state.
I am reading Steven Pinker’s The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined, which is very enjoyable because Pinker is a lucid, interesting writer. Although the book was published in 2011, it’s amazingly pertinent in Trump’s America, because Trump has brought out true Leftism, red of tooth and claw, and it’s becoming increasingly easy to see the direction in which American Leftism is heading.
The book’s basic premise, which is spelled out in the subtitle, is that the world is an exponentially less violent place than it was in the past. Despite the “if it bleeds it leads” media world, which horrifies us with stories about violence, the reality is that, even in the most dangerous parts of the world, life is safer now than it was in the past. Pinker has all sorts of statistics and charts showing that murder rates, assaults, rape, torture, and even war have all declined more dramatically than most people realize. The pre-modern world was a horrific place, not just because of starvation and disease, but because of man’s unending inhumanity to man.
To me, a history major, this is old news. However, I bet for many readers, his vivid descriptions of violence from the ancient world through the mid-19th century is eye-opening. Human history is an endless litany of torture, mass murder, warfare, personal murder, more torture and still more torture. Whether you’re reading the Old Testament, Homer, Josephus’s Jewish Wars, explorers’ and colonists’ eye-witness accounts of savagery amongst indigenous people in the New World, or just the day-to-day history of the Roman or Medieval/Renaissance worlds, what humans did to other humans is completely stomach churning.
Data shows that stone age tribes across the world (including the Native Americans that Lefties always want to present as plaster saints) were ferocious when it came to torturing, murdering, and murderously torturing their foes. (Indeed, that stone age impulse instantly to kill any perceived threats just popped up again in the story of that young man whose missionary urge took him to an isolated tribe on North Sentinel Island, only to have the tribe promptly slaughter him.) Even as people abandoned being stone-age hunter-gatherers and started creating nation-states, these cruel impulses remained, whether in acts of violence individuals committed against each other, in warfare, or in the cruelty of increasingly strong states.
So, what happened? Pinker explains that there was a civilizing process that started in England and spread outward from there. There was no one thing that led to lessened violence. Instead, it was a collection of things. [Read more…]
