Something to dream about

Do you ever look ahead eight or ten months in your calendar just to enjoy how empty it is?  My current calendar is so crowded, and my calendar for October 2009 looks so spacious, if you know what I mean.

I know this is vindictive of me, speaking of being busy and overwhelmed, but I rather hope that Obama does not enjoy his presidency.  This is different from the fact that I wish him success — or at least, success as I define it, which is a strong economy at home, and security both at home and abroad.  (There are other indicators of success, but those are the key ones.)

However, I can’t get by my feeling that it was incredible chutzpah for a man with his singular lack of qualifications to run for the presidency (ignoring the fact that more than 50% of the American people were, in my opinion, foolish enough to vote for an empty shirt), and I would like him to sweat a bit.  Uneasy is the head that wears the crown — not, in the case because (God forbid) he’s at risk of losing his head, but simply because I think he already is, and will continue to be, quite overwhelmed.  He bit off more than he can chew and, for that arrogance, I hope he chokes a little.
