President Obama endorses Rep. Pete Stark

Rep. Pete Stark (D-19 terms) is not a nice human being.  This is entirely separate from (or perhaps closely related to) his politics.  Here are some examples of his “not nice”-ness:

2007:

Speaking of Republicans, he said the were sending America’s youth to Iraq “to get their heads blown off for the president’s amusement.”

September 20o9 (at a town hall meeting):

I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.

June 30, 2010:

The often-controversial Rep. Pete Stark (D-Calif.) is once more catching the attention of conservative bloggers with a recording from a town hall meeting in which he ridicules a Minuteman.

When a self-identified Minuteman stood up at a town hall meeting last week in Fremont, Calif. to ask Stark a question, Stark joked, “Who are you going to kill today?”

The Minuteman asked Stark why the government isn’t doing more to “seal” the borders so the country can become “solvent” again.

“We can’t get enough Minutemen armed,” Stark said mockingly. “We’d like to get all the Minutemen armed so they can stop shooting people here.”

Stark is so notorious, the WaPo once put together a compendium of his greatest hits:

2003: As Stark belittled House Ways and Means Chairman Bill Thomas (R-Calif.), then-Rep. Scott McInnis (R-Colo.) told him to “shut up.”

“You think you are big enough to make me, you little wimp?” Stark taunted. “Come on. Come over here and make me, I dare you. You little fruitcake.”

2001: At a Ways and Means subcommittee hearing on abstinence promotion, Stark referred to then-Rep. J.C. Watts (R-Okla.) as the “current Republican Conference chairman, whose children were all born out of wedlock.”

1995: In a private meeting, Stark called then-Rep. Nancy L. Johnson (R-Conn.) a “whore for the insurance industries.”

“He didn’t call her a ‘whore,’ ” defended Stark press secretary Caleb Marshall. “He called her a ‘whore of the insurance industry.’ ”

1991: Stark singled out “Jewish colleagues” for blame for the Persian Gulf War, referring to then-Rep. Stephen Solarz (D-N.Y.) as “Field Marshal Solarz in the pro-Israel forces.”

1990: Stark called then-Health and Human Services Secretary Louis Sullivan, who is African American, “as close to being a disgrace to his race as anyone I’ve ever seen.”

So, guess who Barack “more civility in our public discourse” Obama has endorsed?  Well, it’s not Eric Swalwell, also a Democrat, who is running for the same seat.  I guess it’s better the crazy old coot you know and to whom you owe favors, than the fresh young face within your own party.  This says a lot about ole Barry, as well as the current moral corruption of the Democrat party, doesn’t it?
